Are SLR and DSLR camera lenses interchangeable?

Another area to look at is M42 screw mount lenses. Get yourself an M42-K mount adapter, and voila! you can even use old wonderful Takumar lenses on your DSLR too. Plus M42 lenses are cheap as chips, and a popular lens to get is the 55mm F1.8. Also, Praktica did M42 lenses so did Zenit, Zeiss Jena, C...

best colour film

I have just got back into film, so trying various film types. Currently in my Spot F I have a roll of Ektar 100, My MF camera (rolleiflex - sorry) is Ektarchrome, and my MZ-5n is some Ilford FP4 B+W I have not used Agfa ever, but I might just try it. Having said that, I LOVE Fuji Reala 100, e...

Filter for Takumar 500mm M42 lens

If you have the lens cap, the size should be on the back of it.:D

ME "Sport"

It seems that this also featured on the US forum, which is the one where it was reported to ebay, but no action was ever taken. Seems the film dial on the back is off a Retina Reflex

More Ektar shots.

I used to get my negs scanned onto cd but found that when I got them back they were to over processed for my liking. I invested into an Epson V600, I really wanted the V750 but I don't shoot enough film to justify the cost. I generally scan my negatives at 4800 optical dpi and my 35mm files end up ...

What price for older pentax cameras?

I have a friend whose brother in law died recently. Amongst several folders and a stereo camera was his Pentax kit. He has asked me to dispose of his camera kit so I thought I would ask here for some advice. I think he would rather the kit went to a good home where it would be used, more important...

Pentax auto 110

I got one a while back and although film 'can' be found you'll have to develop it yourself... Not an issue for me as the Auto-110 I bought was riddled with fungus and was quickly binned... "Grrr... That Auction Site... Grrr!!"

Pentax auto 110

I bought the three lens kit packed in its original box with winder, flash, filters etc. recently from 'that auction site.' All near mint and less than £50. It's truly a design classic and having film available again is a big bonus. The image quality of 110 was useless Well largely I guess yes as ...

Pentax auto 110

I picked up a complete set: body, winder, flash, three lenses, filters, close up lenses, hoods in a Pentax aluminium outfit case for £70. It is so mint that many of the parts including the camera and flash cases are still in sealed poly bags. For sheer picture taking enjoyment it beats the pants ...

Pentax Auto 110 spares

thanks for your help I rang Asahi Photo and they will have a look and ring me back so keeping me fingers crossed, Harrow Technical don't seem to deal with the 110. just seems a shame a camera is defunct for the want of a battery holder the camera seems in good condition but unless I can get batter...

Pentax Auto 110 spares

Just had a look at mine and I think you'll find the batteries will fit in just fine without the little holder as all the connection/conductors are in the camera body not the holder, they're just a bit more tricky to get back out. Holder looks like this: Batteries inserted without holder ...

Pentax ME F Article

I saw that, an interesting article. Quite a coincidence given the recent postings about it in the Pentax Equipment section. Ivor Mantanle is even grudgingly nice about some of the Pentax offerings of the time. It could be seen as the follow-up to the K series article he did a few weeks back. C...

SFX problems

Hi. I have just run through a 36 roll film in, what appears to be, a mint SFX. The results come back as a failure. The film progressed through and then rewound., yet the film is completely blank. The mirror is functioning correctly but the sync curtain does not move. Two little fingers of s...

DigitaLIZA

After posting I did a bit more searching. Seems these are for use with back lit scanners, ie. ones that can already do negatives! If you try scanning neg's Jeff all you get is a black oblong. I was only interested in the 110 side, but ...

Pentax K1000

Of course you can always switch your camera to RAW, manual focus, and M mode and then avoid plodding through the menu on any Pentax DSLR... if you want!

Pentax K1000

Of course you can always switch your camera to RAW, manual focus, and M mode and then avoid plodding through the menu on any Pentax DSLR... if you want! True, and I use my K-r like that but I'd like a FF sensor to make the most of the 35mm film lenses I have instead of the cropped sensor the K-r has...

Pentax K1000

I have just acquired one myself. The intention is to use it for star trails. None of those battery running out problems! And yes, I agree with the other sentiments. A raw only digital, nice big view with split prism manual focus and manual everything else. That would be just dandy.

Pentax K1000

I've been very close to getting aK1000 for a couple of years... I'm currently playing with the MX (K5 is all packed away)... Is the viewfinder in the K1000 similar to that of the MX? Would be nice to have a 'slightly' larger body... Hi Dave, Obviously it's subjective, to me they're simila...

Film Recommendations

I like Kodak Ektar 100 but it can suffer from funny colour casts if not processed very carefully. As a result I pay a premium to have them developed, printed and scanned at the Darkroom UK. Not a cheap service, but generally excellent and I'm happy with them. I did try "drugstore" processing when...

Recommended Pentax repairers in the UK?

These guys are incredible: They'll also sell you spare parts individually if you ask nicely :) I'd be surprised if they would touch 50 year old classic cameras. My experience with them for modern stuff was mediocre. K. When they fixed my lens release button, I got back a manual focus only c...
