Morning All - Newbie Here
Morning All Having picked up some old Pentax lenses last year for my Micro 4/3 camera I've decided to take the plunge into the DSLR waters. Not actually bought a camera yet but I've decided to start with something used but classic, such as a K10d or K20d, to learn then hone my skills. I like bein...

Hello from the Gulf Coast of AL
I've been a Pentax user since my K1000. I have an X-90 and WG-4 currently. I gave up my Canon DSLR gear to focus (no pun) on attempting to get some nice pics from the underwater camera in the Gulf of Mexico. The 45ft. depth range prompted me to want to send it down via a rod and reel to fishing r...

Hello
Hello all and hah, indeed Davidwazhere :p My dad always told me it's the person, not the camera/lens taking the photo; and he was a living proof of that too :) If you're a pro, than anything that improves your life is surely well worth the cost, but I'm happy with whatever I have/can afford at ...

Just saying 'Hi!'
My involvement with Pentax gear goes back to the late 1960s with a SV and a Super Takumar 50 1.4. The absence of a meter (I couldn't afford the pentaprism accessory meter back then) made you calculate light readings by eye which has served me well ever since. For 35mm work in the 70s through to th...

Just saying 'Hi!'
Thanks for the welcome guys. By the way Stuey, I used to live near your part of the Principality; I had a cottage in Carneddi, just atop Bethesda. I had such fun on my Honda CBX750 back in the 80s, N Wales is great biking country as well as a photographer's paradise. I'm hoping to get out a...

A newbie's first attempt.
Hi guys, My name is Wouter, I'm Belgian. I bought a K5 two years ago and, probably like many beginners, never really used it properly and had it stuck in a cupboard. Until a couple of weeks ago when we decided to go on holiday to Scotland. My girlfriend who's been living with me in Belgium for 6 ...

A newbie's first attempt.
Thanks everyone for the positive comments so far! :-) Also thank you in particular for the tips Daron, they are most helpful!! I did take around 600 pictures when we went to Isle of May, those are really the best ones. And indeed - you learn as you do. The ones of Kilchurn are terribly over-exp...

Hello from Nickbat!
In the 1980s, I was the proud owner of an ME Super and loved taking photos. Unfortunately, that camera gave up the ghost and with a marriage and children, I had neither time nor funds to venture into the DSLR world. All that changed, though, when I was given a birthday present of a K-30 (OK - I know...

CAMERA LENS STUCK IN CAMERA
It really is terrifying when this happens. You never get caught out with a "Richo Pin" again! I used a pair of scissors to cut a beer can open and to cut out a very thin shim - which did the job a treat. You shove it in just next to the auto-focus lever as this is the hole into which the errant pin...

Pentax baby coming home
Hello All, I grew up with my father's pentax Kx. I eventually got an Olympus OM1, and was lucky enough to sell some of my photos. I I've missed most of the digital age (too fast). But would like to get back into photography (mainly for pleasure and if possible a side income). I've very little tech...

Cannot Download pictures from Pentax WG-3 to Windows 7 64-bit PC
A Pentax WG-3 was recently purchased for one of our Maintenance sections. He took several pictures and then went back to their shop to download the pictures onto his PC. When he connected the camera using the USB connector, it does not recognize that the camera is connected. It was powered up but...

Not quite "just joined"....
But! I'm glad to be back. I haven't really done much with my camera for too long now. Sudden (unexpected) change of job, longer hours etc etc. Anyhow. I've got my camera back out a bit in the last few months and thought I'd pop back in and see how everyone is. So, Hi! How are you all?
