Coming back from the dark side
Welcome back! Oh, and it's generally said (across many forums) that the "dark side" is Nikon, not Canon. Which makes the Canon the light side. Then I wonder what side Pentax is in? Oh wait I know, we're on the bounty hunter / mercenary side! Cool!

DA or DAL?
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your KR! As far as your questions go, optics are the same - GOOD! Quick Shift offers the facility to manually fine tune the focus of a lens that's in AF mode without having to switch to manual focus mode.

Hello From Cullercoats
Hi. Proud owner of a K-x, bought as a present by my wife. For most of my teens/twenties I used a few Praktica cameras, was very pleased with what I was able to do, then moved to Pentax when I could afford it. For a long time had a P30, with loads of supplementary bits, but somehow lost it a...

hi to all
Welcome Chris, I've had my KR since May after a KX. Get out and enjoy your new camera. No substitute for using it and then using it again. You don't say what experience you have with cameras but you'll find plenty of help on here. The camera comes into its own when you start to tweak exposu...

Hello everyone
I've been hanging around in the wings for a long time, now I think it's about time I introduced myself. Here goes! I've come back to photography after an interval spanning all of the multi mode, auto focus and auto winding film camera years. I consider myself fortunate to be living adjacent to on...

Hello from another new member
I have been lurking for a while to get up to date on the recent Pentax Dslrs and have just upgraded from a K10D to a K5. I am looking forward to putting it's low light capabilities to test on some astrophotos and (controlled!!) HDR on some landscapes. I have been a Pentax User since 1980 when I got ...

New to forum
I'm actually Mandy and not really 'Sky' and it was me who posted this thread initially. Many thanks to you all for answering my question about the Kx batteries. Have taken notes on the info given. The delay in acknowledging your help is due to me being unable to get back into this site! It throws me...

Hello all, new to Pentax and DSLR
Hello all, after many years absence, I've come back to the world of trying to take the odd decent photo. I always said I'd only get a DSLR when I could afford really good kit (Eos 5D II being my "Do want" for a long time) as entry level Canon and Nikon was a bit meh, but second hand midrange kit was...

Hello all, new to Pentax and DSLR
Hi Bryan. Hi. Yes once bitten by Pentax, that’s it. I was first bitten in 1974, when I purchased a Spotmatic II. Used that up to 2007, when I purchased a K10D. Spotmatic still going fine, just had to have the light seals replaced a few years back, don’t think you could say that camera owe...
