hello again.
Good to see you back. I used to have a K-7 and upgraded to the K-5 which unfortunately was an early one with sensor staining. Due to shortage of stock I had to wait a while for a replacement but had the use of a K-r for a few weeks. Nice camera and I liked it but did find the singe control wheel...

hello again.
Glad you are back.:D Sorry about the K-7 - I trust that was all that got broken in the skiing accident and you were OK? I'm sure you will enjoy your K-r just as much. Fords are good too .

New K7 colour not great.
Hello all. I have just joined & am at last happy that I don't have to read all about Nikon & Canon whenever I am trying to find out information. Should have done this years ago when I bought my K100 Super! Anyway, yesterday I upgraded to a K7 (body only - I have a Pentax lens 16-50 mm 2.8) and was s...

New K7 colour not great.
Apart from the panacea of shooting RAW. Reset the K-7 to factory settings to make sure whoever had the camera before you hadn't made some odd changes. Then put the K-7 in either P or Av mode (just for example). (not available in easy green mode). And press the button to the right of the OK b...

New K7 colour not great.
Thanks for your help. When I first got the camera home I was just shooting the kids on a trampolne, flowers in the garden etc & using my flash unit sometimes too, as it was twds the end of the day - changing excitedly between TV, AV & P & just excitedly exploring. I do usually shoot AV but for the t...

New K7 colour not great.
Thanks all for your feedback. Have spent the weekend helping out shoot a friends wedding, and have been pleased with the results. I think it was case of not being used to the colours - for sure that matt versus gloss effect. I have still had to edit some shots colour wise. Some of the lilac dresses ...

Hello from Hampshire
Hello all. I've been reading the forums for a while now. Finally decided to sign up and join in. I haven't quite got a Pentax, but it virtually is, it's a GX10. I've got the kit lenses but spend a lot of time playing with old manual focus M42 lenses of which i have a few. Mike.

Hi from Oxfordshire
I have on order the 43mm Limited, again because with a past Nikon kit l did take a lot of images in the 60mm area, and for me it works. regards ........... philip When this lens first came out, it was tested against a Summicron and the then current Nikon 50mm 1:1.4, and came out on top. So yo...

Hi from Oxfordshire
Hi George, The 43 limited arrived a couple of days or so ago, but as yet l have to really put it through it's paces. Popped out for half hour or so yesterday and came back with a dozen images, not the best composure wise, but something to let me see what the lens can do.As far as sharpness is con...

Welcome. I got a K7 plus the 18-55WR and 50-200WR back in January for almost exactly the same reasons you're thinking. No regrets, and I've been able to take it out in the rain without problems so far . There's also a thread somewhere (can't find at mo )with advice on what to do when you b...

Hello from the west Mids
Hello to all of you and thanks to all for the information I have found here. I bought my first camera, a Ricoh XR1 when I was 13 from money earn't shifting sacks of spuds. It had a fast prime and I learnt quite a bit about photography over many years with it. A young family came along and came...

Greetings
Hi All, Joined not that long ago and hoping to learn a lot of pointers on photography from all Pentax followers. My 1st camera was a Kodak Box Camera given to me by my father some 60 odd years ago. Until recently when I retired, my photography was limited to recording my family life and evants rel...

Hi from Derbyshire
Hi Tim, Chesterfield calling! That's the foreign northern bit of Derbyshire to the uninitiated! I'm married to a Derbyshire lass and after 21 years up here still can't understand Derbyshire Drawl sometimes! The 55 - 300 DA is superb for wildlife. Get the metal mount DA if you can rather than t...

Hello
Hi Chris, I was in the same boat in Nov last year, upgrading from a Lumix point and shoot to a K5. It is bloody marvellous! The lens you have will produce very nice results all told. I have the DA* 50-135 and it is very good indeed- it would make an ideal companion for your DA*16-50. I am s...

Hello from Portsmouth
Welcome. I also have a K-7 .. although in approx 15 mins it will be in the post to it's new owner. :D Ha ha sold mine last week for 450 notes. Now I'm feeling a bit exposed with only the K5 and no back up (no I lie, I do believe I have an ME Super downstairs somewhere) ! And welcome Neil - f...

Coming back from the dark side
I spent my first million (roughly) years or so on earth as a Pentax film camera user. Loved my ME Super to death (it's sitting moldering slowly on a shelf as I type) and had many happy years with a 645. The day came when film was just too expensive to continue with and I decided to go digital, but b...
