A few from a short walk around village, Happy New year to all.
thanks for comments and will let you know on the tap when i go back that way next. A few from a short walk around village, Happy New year to all.
Not that easy because to be really effective, the feed pipe has to be clear glass and the tap has to be firmly fixed to it while allowing the water to escape and flow back down the outside. I saw one in Menorca a few years ago and it was on a copper pipe but the jet of water was so fast you could ...

Woodland Slime
I had an hour to kill after dropping off Mrs L for a hospital appointment (regular checkup, nothing to worry about). There was a book on the back seat of the car and the Q-S1 in a coat pocket. What to do first? The camera won. So I walked the couple of hundred yards from the hospital car park to a s...

New toy first shots...
Last week I found on fleabay a Tokina 400m f5.6 telephoto lens... I read a few reviews by users and thought - what the hell, and got it for 60 quid! I mainly bought it for astro work but I ill try it on other stuff as well. This evening was the first time I had an opportunity to fanny with it....

New toy first shots...
What is the theory of it? Surely every last image will be on the same focal plane so where is the value? Isn't it to reduce the random noise (from camera electronics, atmospheric abberations etc.) that appears in an individual image? Take an average of each pixel and what is in most or all images (s...

Stacked and None Stacked
I have posted a few stacked images of the moon. This lead a few people to ask or not have thought about using a stack for astro work. So here is a Stacked and a None Stacked image. Both have had a very similar, if not that same post processing in Photoshop. Stacked - 50 images stacked ...

A WOW followed by a sharp intake of breath, and exhale of "HOW F*****G MUCH?!?!?!?" (My Yorkshire heritage kicked in!!) When I saw the price of TopazAI.... :lol::lol: David.... could you please dial it back a tad? It's really neat what you've done, but I think the effect maybe a bit t...

Shots of Dartmoor.
I took these test shots really, with the K! and a DFA* 70-200 f2.8 back in November, the position was not ideal but hurriedly taken hand held, from where I temporarily parked the car, having tested this lens further up the road by Wistmans Wood with a tripod, see earlier post. The lens was returne...

Warsaw heros
I wouldn't like to come across her on a dark night if she's in a bad mood.... :o Nice picture, though :D. Pity that the building at the back isn't clear of her tail end, but you can't beat planners and architects. Steve

Warsaw heros
Nice one Chris. that wasn't around when I visited Warszawa on business a few times back in the late 60's. The most impressive building was the Palace of Culture or as we called it the Palace of variety. Built with Russian money and Polish sweat. I was followed around for 24hrs. a day and they even r...
