Pentax Q Goes professional on shoots!

recently i had been taking the Q and 03 fish eye lens out on model assignments, the clients were coming back to me saying "i love that wide shot" or " that looks cool with that perspective" so i continued to use it in every job the best shoot with it was with the punk rock singer that i did las...

Mycena adscendens - or Frosty Bonnet toadstools

A lot of toadstools are just that - a lot of toadstools. Others just have to be photographed - if you can spot them, that is. These looked like tiny white flecks on the moss covered trunk of a huge ash tree. I almost walked past because I was searching the forest floor for more conventional fungi....

Rio's Sunday portrait with A 85mm 1.4 plus single flash

Thank you all for the kind comments. I can assure you all that Rio gets well paid for his modelling work. Extra gravy bones and cuddles from his daddy (I think he prefers the former). From a technical perspective it may be of interest to note that I did not use a black background for this shot. I...

A few around town...

As always, great images, Lenny. Just back from a week in Italy / Amalfi. Took the 21mm and 28-105mm for my K1ii. I may have used the 28-105mm a couple of times, the rest the 21mm. Your images confirm why it's such a fabby lens. The 77mm also rocks. In sum, an incredible set here.

Garden birds returning.

always nice to get the birds back how do u find the DA 300 that's one I had my eye on for a while . .:) Brilliant lens. I don't think it's ever been rated less so. IMHO. Great for bird shots as long as you are in fairly close, otherwise 300mm is limiting somewhat.

Garden birds returning.

No shortage of blackbirds around here and breeding too (the two may be linked...). It's worth noting that blackbirds do move around so numbers can vary locally. British blackbirds may move around the country in search of food as autumn/winter arrives. And blackbirds from Scandinavia migrate he...

Minimal Seascape / cloudscape

Saw the light was epic as we came back home from taking a sofa to the tip (can't even give stuff away for free nowadays!) Got home, grabbed the camera and quickly walked back to the top of the village that overlooks the sea. The light was starting to fade but I managed to grab this one image. ...

Walking in the French Pyrenees

Just getting the processing finished from our mid-September trip. This is the Cirque de Troumouse, not the most famous, but a great walk to an amazing sight. K70 + DA 16-85mm. A few humans left in here and there for a sense of scale! 1 2 3 4 Don't forget to look back now and again! ...

Walking in the French Pyrenees

Thanks, all, glad you found the scenery as amazing as we did! A few more to come shortly, I hope. Have you been on the little yellow train??. Too many years ago to say, Vic! Though it runs much further to the Mediterranean end of the Pyrenees than the Central Pyrenees we prefer for walking these ...

Some wet spiderwebs

It's that time of year again. Misty, drizzly mornings deposit droplets all over the spiderwebs and you get that urge to balance a tripod in the most unlikely places to get what you think are the best pictures. Then you get indoors, put them on the big screen and toss most of them into the bin! Here...

End of the dahlias.

Thanks for your comments. The double exposure (numbers 2 and 4 - one exposure in focus the other well out of focus) does work well with flowers and trees. Graham

Bit of fun with clear night skies.

Thank you all for the comments, appreciated. I have been playing with RT to try and improve the shots but TBH there is very little in scope for me anyway. So here is a shot from my efforts today. "How are you finding that 11-18? " It is a brilliant lens, I am using more often, actually used th...

4 Autumnal Images

On the way back from uni I popped in Pontcanna Fields to shoot some of the trees there. I should have gone to Llandaff Fields as they're a bit more open. I did shoot a blog to these but that's been binned! Found this location to be incredibly beautiful to the eye but it's so hard to photograph there...

Chasing the sun

Playing with Negative option in RawTherapee.

Taken on the KP and DA* 11-18mm, back in August. The ruins with a date of 1640 on one fireplace, Lakeside in Radford Park, Plymouth are said to be haunted and there is a street named White Lady nearby to relate to the ghost. 1. 2. 3. 4.

Crepe myrtle

I was going to post this with my other shot with the 100 Macro WR, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, after a little (tedious) time spent in focus calibration, this was pretty much what I was after.
