So back to The Itchen, 60 minutes North,rest,60 minutes back to the start. 1 camera, with1lens attached (varies on ...

Q Whitby
Another trip to Whitby today for a late breaky and up to Fortunes Kippers for a side of smoked salmon. Took "another" DSLR but also the Q. Parked up on the West Cliff as its free parking up there until March. The streets were very quiet. Snow on the...

Hardwick Hall Illuminations
Well, I don't know if it's my eyesight (could well be!), but I can't see a great deal of noise in the first place. The colours in no.2 are slightly more vibrant, though - intentionally so? The noise isn't so visible in the images when uploaded onto the forum as it was in the Raw file, however the im...

Crystal Grottos
Not exactly the hall of the Mountain King. These are miniature grottos of ice crystals from this morning's (very) sharp frost. Probably the last chance before the weather warms up for Christmas. All taken with K3 + Irix 150mm macro and all are focus stacks. Thoughts, comments etc. welcome as usua...

Trees
Part of the collection of images I'm shooting for my 'When The Fun Stops' project. The project with soul searching is more about my childhood memories of Barry Island to how it is today with the childhood rose tinted glasses off. These 4 sum up the project. Reaching Back by , on Flickr ...

Down Stream to the sea.
Back again to Heybrooke Bay this time with tripod and ND filter, KP and DA* 11-18mm. Used a ND 16 four stop and a Grad filter, so no max F stop this time. Midday sun so not the best but some shadows. 1. This stream flows down to the sea, just below the pub, as it happens.... 2. Bit lower ...

Asturias in the fog with K 28mm f/2 "Hollywood"
28mm is usually not a focal length I use as a walk-around, especially on full-frame, but the speed of this lens and sharpness wide open mean I can get shallow depth of field when wanted and it seemed like a suitable length for a walk in the early morning fog in Asturias, northern Spain. These are f...

Backyard color
Well you certainly were blessed with good colour in the sky. They seem a bit fuzzy to me, were these hand held? ~ All handheld. The scene was changing rapidly, no time for a tripod, low light may have affected focus target. I kept the ISO at 80, shutter speed near 1/15th and tried to get anything...

Best of 2022 with the K-3
Normally I'd post a thread with twelve of my best efforts of the year around this time but this will be a bit different. I switched to the L-mount in April as my main camera system and have barely touched my K-3 or Fujifilm X-T20 since. I'd have loved to stay with Pentax but they don't make the ca...

Best of 2022 with the K-3
Many thanks. Using manual lenses on the S5 is not problematic at all - they are much easier to focus with precision than they were with the K-3 and it's wonderful to finally have them with their originally intended field of view on digital. My enjoyment of old manual lenses has been renewed with...

A few from a short walk around village, Happy New year to all.
Not that easy because to be really effective, the feed pipe has to be clear glass and the tap has to be firmly fixed to it while allowing the water to escape and flow back down the outside. Nice collection of pictures. You have a few steep climbs there!
