Any members in...?

Thanks for the advice on Saturday Dan, I spoke to Sigma this morning and they've said to mail it to them here with the receipts and they'll repair it under warranty. Much easier than sending it back to New York!

I have been volunteered (by my wife) to take some photographs of her trio (available for weddings , funeral and bar mitzvah) tomorrow lunch time. It has to be tomorrow as they need the photograph by the end of the day. Great. This is two ladies and one man all over 50 who play violin, viola and g...

Rapid advice needed please!

My feeling is that nothing in the photograph should compete with the three subjects - agreed? Therefore, I'm thinking tight crop shallow depth of field to get the sandstone walls out of focus. Also I'm thinking they'll need to be close together to make the most of 'them' rather than space around ...

They play an unusual mix ranging from chamber music adapted to their three instruments, Al Bowley songs, traditional folk and what's that Jewish music Glimka something or other as well as others, they also do requests if they can recall the tune. UK Weather + Scotland Petrol

Got back from my Isle of Skye trip yesterday. The Harley, 05:30hrs near Newtonmore. I put a few pictures on my web page, you can see them there if you are interested, rather than post here, Most were taken on my Optio-550, as I could carry it in my pocket, and retrieve it quickly....

My new website has launched..

some good points there. but time is money, and it is hard to justify having a "high maintenance" site. I'd list the items this way: once clicking on dslr's I'd list the dslrs from most expensive to least expensive.( placing cameras from each manufactures top, mid and bargian models o...

What K10D settings ??

First of all, set the ISO to Auto (and the full range: 100-1600). Of course you don't have to do this, but it does help when you're in a hurry or learning the basics. The DL's Sport mode selects AF-C - continuous autofocusing, meaning the camera continually adjusts the focus (if necessary) while...

What K10D settings ??

Keen2Learn, When you put the mode selector on P, in the menu s, you can set it 4 ways: 1:program 2:depth of field 3:fast shutter 4:MTF. As a newbie, I think Program would be the safest bet. Back to Mode dial, when set to "P", you can use the front or rear dials to automatically go...

Good 'ole Dr Mhuni...!!

I couldn't agree more :!: So are you saying its more expensive to visit Africa compared to the states. I would have thought the opposite :? Yes. Flights to Africa are really expensive and most countries seem to be more expensive than a couple of years ago. Places like Gambia offer cheap beach hol...

Good 'ole Dr Mhuni...!!

[ However once you actually arrive accommodation / meals etc. are very reasonable as long as you don't expect 5 star VIP treatment. On balance, if you are prepared to rough it a bit and aren't travelling with kids, it could work out cheaper to have 2 weeks in Africa depending on where you wen...

Tips wanted for trip to SW England...
