Thanks for that Simon! Reminds me of so many wonderful places. The only problem is that now I want to go back to North Wales. If I hadn't just booked my hols (and you could guarantee me the weather :D ) I be there like a shot. Maybe next year.

interesting news article

I got my frst Pentax DSLR, a *istDS with a Tamron 28-200 lens, because somebody had left it in a taxi. It was handed in to lost & found at a police station in London by the cab driver. After the statutory holding period it was unclaimed and handed back to the cab firm who then put it on eBay...

interesting news article

I once left a Pentax slung over the back of a chair in a Milan restaurant and didn't realise until a heart-beating hour later. Rushed back to Bifi Scala and asked in pidgin Italian about my lost 'camera'. Met with blank, astonished stares (or should that be'stairs') - camera, of course, being the It...

£1500 to spend, decisions, decisions!!

Well, it's 2 in the morning, I am getting drunk, celebrating turning $8 into $3000 on Full Tilt Poker! Seeing as though with my last poker wins I bought a K10D for the better half that I wanted to surprise her with for Xmas but couldn't afford, I'm now going to be greedy and spend this one on mys...

New member from Canada

Netherland is one third the size of Scotland with three times the population, I wonder what the Canadian statistics are? About 35 millions persons and a territory large enough to lose the whole U.K. with no hope of finding it back!

Advertising and selling photos

and from what I gather such sites like istockphoto sell images and you get peanuts back like 12p a image and you have to wait til you X amount like £20 before you can get your money out and back to you ?? I've used iStockPhoto a lot, mostly as a buyer but occasionally as a seller. It's not bad at al...

Paranoid

Next time I'm coming back as a bug in Clarky's back garden. And just as he shoots I'm going to jump out the way  Who mentioned Murphy? That has inspired me to get a few cans of the stuff and spend Sunday afternoon getting drunk, seeing as it's too late to go out and it's raining anyway ...

Paranoid

And here I am thinking "I" was the only one with luck like that :D Got up today, bit of blue in the sky, methinks I'll get down to the local RSPB reserve before the rain starts, getting out of the car I knocked my tripod over breaking the quick release plate mechanism  , by the t...

Focus on Imaging

We're just back from a day at the exhibition and the feet feel the usual aggravation that wandering around the NEC for several hours always gives them. Pentax K20Ds were on offer with the new 18-55mm lens, but also most of the new lenses were there as well, including the 200mm f2.8 and the 300mm ...

Best lightweight Travel Tripod

Does anyone have a preference for a good quality lightweight tripod i could use when i travel. I don't want to spend a fortune on it but something sturdy and compact i can fit on a back pack or in it for that matter. Minimum height too 1.4mtr would suffice.

Adobe products - rip off in UK

Things have actually 'got better' with the price of PS in the UK,...a couple of years back when I was weighing up the prices/packages the UK and US prices were the same digits!!....so PS was effectively TWICE the price here!! An outrageous and arrogant policy on the part of Adobe in my view. Howe...

Intro2020 Tremendous Service

I would just like to sing the praises of Intro2020, as you may be aware they are the UK importer of Pentax and amongst other things Velbon Tripods. I damaged my Tripod Head last Sunday, knocking it over and breaking the locking lever for the quick release plate , I contacted Intro on Monday to en...
