Hoya reveals more plans for Pentax

I hope that Dixons selling the K10D is a result of Hoya's firepower and a statement of intent by Pentax. One slightly disturbing point in the document is the lack of the words "core business" in relation to cameras. The language is different to that used elsewhere in relation to medical...

Hoya reveals more plans for Pentax

I see a macro lens with built in led (white light and uv and ir) lighting powered by the supesonic motor contacts to create a lens that will be covetted by medical, forensics, AND macro photography users! of course they'll need a slr body to go with that! specializing in high-value added products...

Anyone Done this...

I seem to remember Digital Photographer magazine gave them a bit of a plug a month or two back but didnt say too much. Caught my eye as they seemed to be pushing the british landmarks and icons idea.

Anyone Done this...

What I can't understand is that they want photos that are British but they have a photo on there of a Mandarin Duck which isn't native to this country.... Definition of a native? Someone who complains about immigrants. Funnily enough, I was in St James's Park last month, and happened to touc...

Copyrights question.

IMHO you have 3 ways of purchasing images. 1 is to buy the image for your own private use 2 is to buy the image to use in a book / whatever but a percentage of the royalties must be paid back to the original photographer 3 you buy the total and unresticted rights to the image (in the old days...

Petekd - how did it go?

[quote="Don"]on commission? I'm not sure i get that.quote] It worked quite well, like this: Bride ordered a package which included a set number of pics and album, priced according to number, size and album quality. You could then make as much money again with sales at the reception. You...

Congratulations George . . .

You were right George I stand corrected it wasnt a Pentax lens but a Super Takumar 1:2 / 55. Do you think is worth getting the adaptor and using this lens. It looks very clean despite sitting in a box in someones garage for 15 years. It was a Pentax lens, just not a Pentax-M as you originally though...

Sadly the newsletter has been on hold because of spam. You may not be aware, but this site got hit a while ago by the spammers. It resulted in many members of this forum being banned because their IP fell in the same range. We managed to resolve most of that now but it's a painful process. The ne...

We have a plan to revamp the whole PU site in the coming months which will allow us to get the newsletter back on track. And add some new features to this site. Please don't revamp it as much as epz... whether it's increased visitors or the changes but I'm finding epz painfully slooooooow and I don...

Hand grip - anyone used one of these:

I use something similar, but it has an extra strap that fits around the wrist with a cliplock strap. It's never been off the camera since the day I bought it.. upwards of a year. Is it one of these, Liam? http://tinyurl.com/3cdf8j Yep, that's the one Chris.. :) As I said, it's never been of...

Hand grip - anyone used one of these:

I bought one of eekbay and I have never looked back. If I am not prepared to take a photo the camera is in the camera bag. If I am taking photos the grip is preferable to winding the neck strap round my wrist. I can change battery without unscrewing the base completely too. Mine has a tripod ...

Hand grip - anyone used one of these:

I eventually decided against the handstrap as I thought it could restrict me doing anything else with my hand I'm hoping it'll be a lot less restrictive, since by the time I've wound the neckstrap round my wrist to achieve the same thing, and hooked it over my little finger to secure it, the hand is...

Hand grip - anyone used one of these:

if you decided to get one Chris let me know how you go with it. Well I've got one on order from one of those Hong Kong places that sell them, so I'll report back when I can. Well it's arrived, and I've fitted it. Initial impressions are very good. It was bit fiddly to adjust right - initially I ...

Hand grip - anyone used one of these:

I have been tempted by the Op/Tech version but haven't yet succumbed. It uses the same system as their neck straps. http://www.optech-online.co.uk/lst97.htm or http://optechusa.com/product/detail/?PRODUCT_ID=66&PRODUCT_SUB_ID=&CATEGORY_ID=4 Just thought I'd mentioned that I just got...

Hand grip - anyone used one of these:

I also ordered one of those cheap wrist grips from Hong Kong and hope that will be better designed, otherwise it's back to the neck strap :( Which one did you get? I got the one with the additional strap that goes round the wrist and clips shut, as well as the leather bit that rests against the bac...
