Hi All

Just back from skiing in Austria - as always I agonise over taking my DSLR with me - as usual decided not to so took the trusty Optio WP (5mp). When its sunny I cannot even see the screen, so it is truly a "point & shoot". I had it set on the built in Surf & snow setting. And once again Im really impressed with the results. The attached is a stitched image (using Microsoft ICE) produced from 8 separate shots. Then some slight post processing with Aperture.

I'm really pleased.

I'll try and persuade myself to take the K5 and 18-135mm WP next time.

Does anyone have any tips for photography whilst skiing?

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll stick with my DA 55-300. I'm not sure if I'd get a lot of use out of a fixed 300mm, I might see about renting one to try out.

Does anyone know if the new HD version has the same issue?

Nice shots. How do you find the focus speed. I have the DA Version and have been happy with the results, BUT, it does hunt for focus at times, especially at air shows.

York Camera Mart have a Samsung GX10 and a K10D in their window at the moment. nothing on their website though.
I can't remember the prices, but both were less than £200.
