I would love to go to York and see the cathedral, I may get the chance in July if I am lucky
If you are in the area consider the alternative of Beverley Minster. Not as grand as York but some say the architecture is better and it is likely to be nearly empty.
St Mary's at the other end of town is a lovely church with good misericords and a carving which was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's white rabbit.
Parts of the town are also worth a picture or two.

What`s the problem? Boeing use them in the new Dreamliner so they must be safe to be carried in aircraft surely!

It seems that the RM regulations changed for contract customers on 14 January and will change for others on 15 July.
RM seem to say different things in different parts of their website. If you go here and here it suggests lithium ion and polymer batteries may not be sent on their own but are OK within UK (but not internationally) in a device.
Referring to surface mail within UK ignores the fact that quite a lot of the longer distance mail goes by air.

Two suggestions. Take the easy way out and change the resolution to 72ppi to keep him happy. Or (try to) prove your point by sending him the same pic with different resolutions so he can see they're the same size on screen.
I suspect that when you and John are referring to printing you mean photo printing. There may be a relevance to ppi when inserting a pic into a document for printing. In the past I found that sizing the pic based on the ppi required to print at the required size made it easier to get the dimensions right in the document with the smallest file size possible.
How do you change the settings on Facebook so no one else can use the images?
You set general general privacy via the gearwheel at top right of page, or for an individual photo via the gearwheel by its title.

Closest focus point moves away proportionally
Comment by wasleys posted on F stops converters? at 16/01/2013 - 20:11
When you add a 2x converter this makes an F stop of 5.6 into F11. BUT does this increase the depth of field as it would if the F stop was just altered on a lens without the converter?.
My understanding is that putting a 2x converter onto (say) a 200mm f5.6 lens effectively converts it into a 400mm f11 lens. DOF will be as it would be for any lenses of those configurations.
However I believe the closest focussing of the lens in use is retained.
