I know nothing about that particular lens, but I've had a manual focus Sigma 28-200 for many years, and it's given me excellent service. Any lack of optical qualities it may have had were more than compensated for by its convenience. I'd never sell it.

UPINSMOKE sorry to hear about your bad luck, maybe you should contact petekd - he is selling his kit.
Will also be needing a spare battery, cable release, or remote. Any links to where I may get these would be good.

I have not been here for a while. Mainly as I had some bad luck in 2007. I had to go bankrupt and in the process had all my camera equipment and other Items taken to pay creditors. I am now slowly getting back on my feet. Just after Christmas I was offered a Canon 400D at a really good price so bought it to at least allow me once again to take photo's as this is the only hobby I have.
I have been using it for the last few months, but just could not get the pictures I wanted as I did with the Pentax K100. So decided yesterday to sell the canon camera and a Sigma Lens I had on Ebay as a buy it now. Both have sold immediately with instant payments. So today have been looking around for a Pentax K10D and found one this evening with a buy it now price of £430 + postage. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200201271256&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010
Just wondered if I got a bargain. Bit out of touch with prices. The extra lens looks nice, but can you tell me if it is any good.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Do you have a new 50-200mm lens, or a new Tamron converter?
What is fitted to the camera?

I fitted it on the camera and then my pentax 50-200 zoom lens on manual it works fine.
Switch to Auto and then the problems start, focuses fine at say 50 to 100 but when I use it at full zoom the focus does not seem to lock on the the subject just keeps trying to re-focus again. Am I doing something wrong??
One other question I would like to buy a SMC Pentax - F 1.7x AF adapter. Any Idea's what I would have to pay for one of these please.

I've said this before and I'm going to say it yet again......my advice is look for a used Pentax 80-320, the lens is (IMHO) very underated. Even though I now have the Bigma 50-500 I would not dream of parting with the Pentax, and with the K10D I can often get away with shooting at f8 which as we all know is the (alleged) optimum aperture for best results.
