And no doubt I will be visiting Tantallon again in the near future (it's just down the road from seton sands or a bit further up than berwick) I'd like to see some images done by others just for inspiration
I found the view of the castle from the road including bass rock is marred by the shop at tantallon, would have been better built of stone and blended in

Tantallon is one of my favorite places. I've just never yet managed to get the shot I want of it. Hope you have better luck.

I thought the castle itself was a bit disappointing, mainly a high flat wall with some window holes but once inside there are some great views of Bass Rock. I'm sure a photographer would get some great shots with the right weather etc. I was lucky enough to get back to the car just before the heavens opened

Remember, if you can't see Bass Rock from Tantallon it means it's raining and if you can see it, it means it's going to rain.

Thanks to all who replied. I chickened out, thinking of my eyes, nerves, how things tend to break in hands for no reason etc., and took it in to a camera repair shop in Newcastle where a kind gentleman did the job for me at no charge ( I put a couple of quid in the lifeboat charity box on the counter ) so if anyone has a camera to repair sensor to be cleaned etc., I can recommend:

Have a bit of black "stuff" and what appears to be a very small hair on the focus screen. How do I clean this. Do I need special tools? Any help appreciated.
