Thanks for that info. I hope it's not going to be a "last week of the month" monthly competitione

Still traces of coal when tide is out near the lifeboat station and you can almost walk out to the beakwater too

Congratulations to the winner and runners up. Sorry to see this competition go as the monthly is such a long time to wait between results.

Liz never answers unidentified numbers or number withheld. If it's genuine they will leave a message on the answerphone service.

They will sell your data anyway as it has been proved to be a "live" number.

We used to celebrate Trafalgar Day. A big bonfife and fireworks display near the foot of Collingwood's Monument. It was like having two guy Fawkes nights close together. Of course this didn't satify the yob element who decided that throwing fireworks into the crowd was a spiffing idea. Obviously the celebration was stopped.

"Journey into Space" by Charles Chilton. Of course in later years it was applied to Newcastle Brown Ale

Hi Stan. How did those people get on the platform and how will they get off. NO BOAT. I like it blue as early morning often is blue. Panaramic? maybe. CHEERS Vic.
Hi Vic, It's the famous Newbiggin offshore sculpture "The Couple". All the publicity photos in the local paper made it look like the Colossus of Rhodes so it was a bit disappointing when it was put in place especially as the base looks the base of an offshore oil/gas platform There is a mini version at the end of the prom but placed so you can't get a decent photo because of the background. Commonly known as "Ebb and Flo".

I think its fun, like having a Lucky Dip, not knowing what is going to come up. To me that's what it's all about. Some nice shots too as an added bonus
