Looks good, Stan.. However - maybe a starburst effect would have brought a bit more impact to the shot with the artificial lights over in the background?

It looks very blue to me, did you use AWB? I find that it doesn't work very well early in the mornings. Also the foreground looks in focus but the buildings look a bit out of focus to me. I would also try cropping a bit from the bottom and making it a more panoramic view.

AG - I think the reason the background looks OOF is due to the fact that the air was damp, or as Stan pointed out, before it rained, hence the "blurring". I like your idea of making it a bit more panoramic though!!

Hi Stan. How did those people get on the platform and how will they get off. NO BOAT. I like it blue as early morning often is blue. Panaramic? maybe. CHEERS Vic.

Hi Vic, It's the famous Newbiggin offshore sculpture "The Couple". All the publicity photos in the local paper made it look like the Colossus of Rhodes so it was a bit disappointing when it was put in place especially as the base looks the base of an offshore oil/gas platform There is a mini version at the end of the prom but placed so you can't get a decent photo because of the background. Commonly known as "Ebb and Flo".

Right that's me put in my place. (Ileft the N.E. in 1969)
Ebb and Flo. That reminds me of Jarrow in the 50s/60s in the town centre when they put a sculpture of 2 vikings on top of 2 phone boxes. They got named "UG & OG" They had thin spindley legs wide apart and some wag put a dolup of peas pudding under each one. Use your imagination.
