Thanks David, I'll explore further next time I'm down there

Lovely images. It's time I did a re-visit to friends in Winterthur

I did wonder about that Ken. I don't know why they need a perspex screen as high as it is. A 4ft screen topped with wire mesh, big enough to poke a lens through but small enough to stop a child climbing through would have been ideal.

Tried a couple of shots through a perspex screen with the result shown. Is there a way to counteract the artifacts shown on the photo ?

Love them both David, just one query regarding #1 where were you in the Baltic, I went to the viewing platform but they have that horrible perspex screen. Tried a couple of shots but got a lot of 'rainbows' etc. I've added a topic "shooting through perspex" to show what I mean

Nice attempts, gives me something to compare to when I try this

Thanks again for all the Birthday Greetings.

jeffstclair. I'd have loved a glass of the Malt but am saving myself until after pending diabetic clinic visit, sticking to a more or less strict diet.

Gwyn. I agree about Pointless, I think Alexander Armstrong can say volumes with his facial expressions without saying a word but I sometimes wonder who are the 100 people they ask the questions first :

Thank you all for the warm wishes. Had a nice day at the Metro Center, only a Pentax 90 for sale in CEX (apart from loads of games phones ipads ipods iphones and a couple of nikon canon cameras and lenses) . Had a lamb burger in redcurrant and ginger sauce and a very welcome cup of tea in Hand Made Burger Co. Will spend the rest of this evening in front of the telly. No chocs, cakes, etc due to high blood sugar levels and forthcoming visit to diabetic clinic

I've just looked at the time and realised apart from it being past my bed time I'm now 69 years old
