Fabulous photo of the ordinary Steve. Well seen and executed
I agree with Alan.
Just one query: are the seams starting to split in an identical place

When I was very young I always wanted a two way wrist radio like Dick Tracy

The frost shots are very good but #8 the mandarin duck really made me smile. It's a superb shot but I can't help thinking it was a bird designed by a committee rather than natural selection

I have been following this thread as I was thinking of getting a tablet or smart phone. The phone would be used mainly for texting, am thinking larger keypad than that on current phone, and perhaps playing a game or two on long journeys. What has concerned me is no mention of customer service or lack of it. I have been attracted to one of the Samsung phones but they seem to get quite a bit of bad feedback regarding this lack of service and "moving the goalposts" regarding warranty.
Does a tablet with 3G mean I could use it anywhere service being available, like a mobile phone for texting.

I was thinking of getting an iPad but the risk of defeating Mrs Snap at Scrabble (she plays her friends on hers) would be irresistible, I'm more for the quiet life

I thought there was an "8" in the name somewhere At least I didn't go one over the eight on my visit.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh, you two, we'll be invaded.
I'll be invading when the weather is more clement. Last time I was there had lunch in the Groom and Eight I think it was called, at Framwellgate bridge?

I'd love to go to Northumberland but it's a VERY long way north for us...
I'd love to revisit your part of the world Andrew and being retired I think a good way would be to "do it in two". All the motels etc have cheapish rooms for somewhere to spend the night, so maybe next year.

Actually I think we in Durham/Northumberland/North Yorkshire/Cumbria are in the best location.
I have to agree with David and am just getting to know the area thanks to members on here and the trips with the camera club. I think once you visit this part of the country you will agree any travelling is well worth the effort

I think it would work better if you cropped the foreground rocks out Stan.
Also there seems to be a halo all along the length of the image where the sky meets the land.
There has been divided opinions on the crop, I'm not sure which version I prefer now, and since Alan (fatspider) had his sandcastle demolished the whole area has looks different I posted a cropped version in the gallery. There is a halo along the image which probably happened during the pp. I think my use of 'Refine Edge' needs polishing
