Optically, the resolution is not even as good as with Pentax's 'kit' lenses. Then again, not may standard or cheapish lenses are...

Lenses for the Sony are horrid, especially their zooms... If you pay for a Zeiss or an old Minolta then it's better but Sony's lenses are just bad.

The ICC file is useless on any other hardware because every screen, printer, camers is different, even if they are the same model.

In compact cameras noise is just as bad, if not worse at smaller sizes because you loose detail so each dot of noise is larger.

With DSLRs they sample down and noise gets enlarged in the same way, although a little blending does occur but there isn't really any significant reduction.

Lightroom is fantastic, as soon as my trial ran out I went out and got myself a copy. There are still places which have the intoroductury price of £140 rather than £200. I wouldn't go without something like it now, much better than working in photoshop for minor adjustments and I can still export to Photoshop for any major overhawls. This normally involves me editing people out of the photo, sometimes reconstructing the background (where the removed object/person was) by hand from scratch.

Very nice, got to get myself an addapter when I get my K10. Then I can mount and old A 50mm lens on the front.

Danelec, Corsair are good too. Fujifilm's cards are made by Toshiba; as are many others. It is difficult to know where something actually comes from these days with all the rebranding.
Where do you live, Tyr? I have a Super A that isn't broken, and it saddens me to see your sad signature.

Leeds, UK. I am saving up for two things at the moment, a K10D and the repair bill for the Super A. It isn't a big repair bill but the K10D fund just soaks stuff up.

It had a slight knock to the 'backlighting' window on the pentaprism casing which has knocked all the metering information out of view. It hasn't been used in a few years and it needs a deep clean. The foam arround the focusing screen has fallen appart and made a mess. Plus it needs a general service to make sure it is in good working order.

I'd like to get a few more SMC-A lenses for it and ME the as I have a very limited 2... 50mm and a 24-50mm.

It reads how many uncompressed files it can store, using PEF you get an extra 30-50%.
