Will this work with my Pentax 55-300?

50mm arrived very well packed yesterday - exactly as described and a few test shots fired off already - really pleased and looking forward to a few more creative opportunities. Many thanks.

I've got the Pentax 10-17 as well and it is a great lens - I like the flexibility the zoom provides between view angle and "fish eye effect"

I like it and reckon it would make a handy addition for when I don't want to take the K-5 out

My current compact is going on Ebay to start raising funds!

Do you know if the cable release is compatible with a K-5?

I'll second the Black Rapid RS4 - it's an excellent piece of kit and really comfortable for long periods, but really easy to grab the camera and take a shot. I've got mine without the BRAD Strap and can't say I have ever felt concerned about loosing the camera, even when chasing after my 2 year old!

I've got the Pentax 10-17 which I have been very pleased with and got some great results with. Can't compare it with any primes though.

Hi - tempted and having a think.

I'm in Portsmouth and happy to collect, so interested to know what discount you are thinking of.

Just need to think over my lens as have not taken the 17-70 off my K-5 since I got it, but as a WR would make a good walkabout lens.

Image 1 for me too - it appears sharper, the yacht is more defined, I like the sun catching the mist at the base of the mountain and find the more natural colours more pleasing, giving a warmer feel and IMHO a better overall image. I feel that image 2 is too blue and seems darker.

That said, it all depends on the effect you are trying to achieve and the image that you are trying to portray, so everyone is going to have an opinion and a method that works for them, though that may change depending on the original image and the desired result
