Glad to see you're getting good use out of it. I did warn you though - it's a hard beast to master, but absolutely superb when it clicks! (or was that someone else As for these shots, the first is best for me. 2nd and 4th I don't think you've nailed the focus - I always found I needed to stop down much more than I'd expected to get the dof. Of course, this isn't necessarily practical handheld without flash!

(BTW the 10-20 is doing nicely, thankyou - coped with indoor shots at Xmas very well.)

If you do go ahead, could you post your experience with it please? I'm interested in this. Thanks.

I ordered one after it had gone out-of-stock and then come back in stock again (don't know why I was looking, to be honest). Got a mail yesterday saying it had been despatched. Strange.

Valid point. However, I infered from the OP that he was more comenting on the use, for example, of "artistic" filters etc., which I assume most professionals would steer well clear of!

I believe you shoot jpeg? Given what ACR now does on PSE8/CS4 (local adjustments etc.), would you see the need to use PS that much if you were processing RAW?

Who to believe, eh? I do remember when the Sigma 24-70 was cheap the call-centre located a copy in Belfast for me, so they certainly could search by branch then. (Of course, on phoning Belfast it turned out to be a stock error!!)

An interesting observation. I have noticed that most PP discussions here are concerned more with RAW processing and the relative merits of Silkypix, ACR etc. Of course, we may be a self-selecting group that will naturally lean more towards the enthusiast hobbyist, than the P&S snapper able to spend more and who naturally buys the market leader. Personally, as my pitiful attempts have progressed over the years, my use of photoshop for image changing has dwindled to almost zero.

Just spoken to their on-line sales and, after convincing the operative that he CAN check stock for me, he confirmed there are none available in any store. Actually, he did say that all the ones that are there are "spoken for" so may be worth checking in a couple of days for any that don't complete.

Cheers
