There is a serious discussion to be had around the optical viewfinder. That single 'option' requires significant hardware and space. Take that away, as you do when you use liveview, and you've got the same lens and sensor, just without the volume the optical viewfinder consumes.

I'm a fan of the optical viewfinder, but if I push myself to say why, a lot of it has to do with the stability the position you hold it in gives you and the obvious that it's in line with your eyes anyway.
Indeed. I acutally like "live view" but holding the camera tothe head does give stability. It's so easy to move the caemra when firing the shutter holding it at more arms length.

Maybe that's why a lot of phone cam and compacy pics are blurred
I have just bought a non-Pentax "serious" compact (at an Amazon lightning deal price) and for me this does what I wanted the K-01 to do, but with the ability to actually put the camera in my jeans pocket. 1" sensor and decent optics means that I get results 90% of what my K-5 can do as long as I stay in the "easy" zone (18-55 equiv, good light etc.) But that is what I want when I take a pocket camera anyway.

As for stability, I do what most experienced users seem to do and use Tv mode set to 1/80 for snapping, switching to Av when I have a need for limited dof.

So I see the whole market changing as people buy the tools that most fit their requirements.

A nice old lens, in very good condition for it's age with only a small amount of dust as would be expected. This is what people think of the M42 mount version: http://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/vivitar-200mm-f-3-5-auto-telephoto-m42-m...

The photographs at the bottom were taken with the lens yesterday at f/8. I'm only selling because I find manual telephoto too difficult and my 55-300 does the job for me. Price is £25 plus £8 for UK shipping. I usually bundle postage, but this thing is HEAVY (nearly a kilo including case - can be used to fend off would-be robbers though!)

It's a shame you feel like that Nigel, you asked for feedback on your images and that is what you got.

The way I read it Nigel was being a bit tongue-in-cheek (or something like that) and other comments he has made show the positive way he is responding. I would like to say thanks to Nigel for putting these up and Smeggy et al for their insight. I'm sure I'm not the only one on the forum getting valuable education from this!

To be clear, this lens works perfectly. I try to be as honest as possible in my sales and if anything probably paint a worse picture than reality (see previous feedback). See below for a couple of pics I took with it in Paris last year.

And this is also a FULL FRAME lens!!!!!

Bump.

I seriously went off wine and experimented for a while with all the various types of bottled beers. Not bad, but not exciting really.

Happily my taste for fine wine has returned, thus solving the problem.
They're not mutually exclusive you know

Well the inbibing worked 4-1 win
Yep, but I had to drink 12 bottles to do it! Oh, the sacrifices I make for my country (HIC)

This is a good deal - my most used lens, a real step up from the kit and the extra 2mm wider makes a big difference!

This is a lovely sharp, small lens that I'm only selling because its shorter brother the 24mm is the one I now take with me. This copy is in very good condition optically and cosmetically (one tiny bit of paint loss on one number as shown below). There is, however, a small amount of "play" on the barrel, which I do not believe is unusual for this lens (from what I remember about researching before I bought it.) Absolutely no effect on the photos, which I hope is clear from the pictures below that I took with it today.

For peace of mind I will offer a 12 month warranty on the lens - if it gives any problems then send it back for a full refund of all costs (done me well for at least four years!)

The price is £25 including UK postage - no offers please; I believe this is a fair price and any less I'd rather keep it sat next to its sibling
