Thank you guys. I have learnt a lot from this thread. I tried out the 20mm f1.8 and it is really big - must be because it's an "ultra wide" for FF. It seems like there isn't a DA-like solution right now for my need so I'll spend the money on something else then. *shameless plea: please answer the next thread I'm starting *
Cheers.

I need some suggestions for a wide angle lens. Criteria are:
* Wide or zoom, doesn't matter but AF is a must-have
* Shortest focal length less than 20 (e.g. 21mm limited is out of the question)
* f2.8 or better
* IQ only needs to be decent (kit lens level is perfectly fine)
* Reasonably priced and is available to be bought from somewhere

Is there any lens out there that can get all 5 stars from the above?

The only thing I seem to find is the DA* 18-55 f2.8 but the price is too high for a half-stop aperture advantage over the kit lens (Note: I do not intend to use this lens for "serious" work)

I saw some of the members here have a page on the Pentax Photo Gallery website. How did you guys sign up? I thought it was only for the Pentax's marketing team to upload sample photos.
Cheers.

Does anyone get tired of camera bags that scream "I HAVE A CAMERA IN HERE" every time you take it out? I have a Lowepro backbag for that purpose but sometimes it's just a picnic and you don't want to carry one big huge bag just for 1 camera + 1/2 lenses.
If anyone knows a good one that looks like a normal sling/shoulder bag (and is reasonably priced), please let me know. I have been looking around for one in vain.
Thanks a ton.

Can I actually control the lens aperture from the body with a PKA adapter?

Hi guys,
I'm planning to buy a Pentax K5 in a month or so. Currently, I have a Tamron SP 90mm f2.5 macro (52B version - the earliest one). My questions are:

* Is a Adaptall 2 to Pentax adapter the correct one to buy?

* I found 2 types of adapter: PK and PKA. Please can someone explain to me the difference between these two, particularly if used to connect my Tamron with the K5.
I tried searching but couldn't find much clarity. The best I found was an analogy something between A mount and K mount but I have no idea what they are to begin with so can't draw the analogy at all. There was also something about ME and K1000 or something like that and I also have no idea what they exactly are.

Thanks a ton. I love the Tamron lens so would love to use it properly on my K5.
