Pentax is NOT gonna change PRO photographers over to their line in any mass numbers.
If you want FF CCD then why dont you "invest" in Canon technology?
I dont get it, why try and force a huge company like Pentax to cater to your preferences?
They have other consumers to cater to and make more money doing it.
I want a FF CCD and I will get a Pentax one! Do you think that I am a prophet?

Well thank heavens you broke it to us gently....
As for a full frame Pentax DSLR - I don't think it's going to happen. Frankly, the need for such a beast has passed by...
How many people here would shell out for a full frame Pentax digital? Some are already complaining about the price of the K10D!!!
You'd spend MORE on a full frame body than you would buying a whole line of DA lenses!
Pentax wont do it... they know it's suicide.
Besides... Pentax is about more than just compatibility now, WAY more! If it means buying a new lens or flash to get a boatload of new features... well, it's a no brainer to me.

Actually, I don't agree, but we can all have different opinions.
I don't see the DA lenses as a problem - they are perfect for the DSLRs and that is what I happen to use. My film cameras have their own lenses that they always had.

The reason is that these lenses can't be used on analog bodies and on future full-frame sensor digital bodies. The great advantage of Pentax was the compatibility among their products. Where is it now?
And not only this. Every TTL flash by Pentax doesn't cooperate with digital bodies from DL and then.
Pentax K100, K110, DL, K10 can not use TTL technology, but P-TTL instead.
Ok, Pentax your customers bought FTZ-500 for 400€. Some other have Pentax 330, some other Metz, etc.
My friends "DON' T BUY ANY PENTAX LENSES, UNLESS THEY ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE OLDER BODIES"
I am terribly sorry about it, but we must answer to the technical faults of Pentax.

Kimbo,
There isn't a hope in hell of a full frame Pentax DSLR. It's much more likely that Canon will abandon full frame in three years time when they see all the pros defecting to the cheaper, smaller, lighter, better bodies from Nikon and Pentax.
...
If people actually needed full frame (as opposed to bleating about it), Nikon would be going out of business and Canon would be selling full frame in its consumer range...
...
On the contrary, of the three manufacturers who produced full frame bodies, two have stopped doing so. [???]
...
Now if full frame could be produced for the same price as APS-C, it might be a different story. But it can't, and never will be, and very few people are prepared to put their money where their mouth is, and stump up the considerable difference.
...
If the nitwit who started this thread NEEDED full frame, he wouldn't be shooting his mouth here, he would already have a Canon or Kodak or Contax camera.
But he doesn't need one. He just needs to bleat.

I am against the APS system but I purchased the K10D because I admired this job from Pentax and I wanted to support it and of course to get a nice camera, my first digital one.
Even though I get a FF body I will not sell my K10d as I didn't sell my analog Z1. They are historical flagship models!!!
In another forum we discussed that it is very unfair that K20D didn't took a TIPA award, because I consider it maybe the best camera for the money this period. I don't think that Canon 450 is better than K20D. Just see the difference between the quality of both of the bodies.
Don't be sure about the quality of DA lenses. See that K20D needed a better zoom lens in order to support its resolution.
And a reason that made me open this thread is that you 'll never know in the future. We could meet and go for shooting together. Some of us could have FF bodies (doesn't matter if they are digital or analog); some other will have APS bodies. Don't you think that it would be grateful if we all could lend each other or change our lenses for a couple of shots?
For the friend who located the DA 200 on his LX camera I would like to ask if he used slide film or a negative one. If he used the negative one did he look at the negative strip to look for vigneting because the shop that printed his photos maybe cropped the images and as a result the black circle disappeared.
This is the vignetting I had using the lens zoom 18-55 from my K10 on my Z1, during a meeting of a Pentax forum club of my country: http://www.pentaxcafe.gr/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=30&func=view&id=4734&catid=9&limit=10&limitstart=160

Good news for me. You are already happy with what you use, aren't you?

I remember the APS film. People didn't support it and after some years they brought it again as a digital solution.
I am trying to think why. As all of us know that there are bigger sensors at Pentax too (see medium formats). So, a little bigger sensor would help all of us.
I can not find out why. The only thing I suppose is that they try to put us in a marketing technology trick in order to make us feel always buyers of their new products.
When I said that Pentax don't respect their customers I spoke about the dump APS size and not the K10D or the quality of the other products.
The Pentax K10D is one of the best cameras overthere and as I am in love with Pentax bodies and the quality of them I wish I had every body of this company in a private collection.
I am an owner of Pentax Z1 and Pentax K10D and I am very proud to use two of the flagship models of this company.
And another question is: "Why Tamron stopped producing some of their lenses for Pentax"?
That's all.

I belong to Pentax family and I try to make my family better and not go to another one.
I also use RAW format because of the difference in quality (a little problem that all of us hope that Pentax correct with the help of a new firmware for K10D).
But, if manual is the better solution I could stay with with FTZ-500 and FTZ-330.
The problem moves to another section. If you use manual settings then you can not obtain quick photos because
1.you have to set, especially to moving objects or people
2.the flash loses all of it's energy and you have to wait for it to fill again, in order to take a photo of an object eventhough it could be next to the lens of your camera.

Your prophecy came true ... the only trouble is very few of the people that disagreed with you still visit the forum. Shame considering you came back so many years later to gloat
I am not a prophet! I can see the way that technology works: "Give them (that is us) today this, the next day sth more, and the following day sth more and more, but not all from the beginning, as we must have sth to sell"!
I tried to make you see, but I received a lot of criticism, and I am still receiving it from you!
It is a pity to be blind, when a friend of you (all) tries to say something useful! In a few years you will need to get new equipment! You will give some hundrends of dollars again! All of you!
I need to get just a body! And you know sth? I opened this thread for Pentax and for all of you! Not for me! I knew what it was going to happen, but I didn't expect that it could be done so late...! After 10 years!
Good luck to all of you and ... keep your eyes and especially your mind open!
