You could duplicate the layer and create a feathered mask around the subject, select hue and saturation, then click on the selection tool (a dropper or hand holding an arrow depending on your version) click and hold on the subject the move the mouse until you have the right shade.

I found this course by Chris Orwig extremely helpful, but you do have to pay for it link, he was also the least annoying presenter I have found in a while.

Edit

Just found this link, but I expect you already know this bit

My better half is staying home, I think she is quite glad to get me out of the way for a day.

I think most people speak from personal experience with regards to society, for instance I can walk down my hight street at any time, even on a Friday or Saturday night without any fear, I would not have said that of the last village I lived in, only five miles away. After saying that life is becoming very cheep in UK society, yesterday I heard a story about a man who sustained a fatal head injure after arguing about the garden fence with a neighbour. I have been reeding a book called Steel Bonnets, it is about the "border reivers", it is a history of Northumberland during a very violent period. The reivers, robbed & burned whole sections of the English / Scottish border villages using loose alliances with clans even changing nationality when if it was convenient. These times are now romanticism as part of our past with local "characters" not doubt villains at the time recounted in song.

To put things back on track after derailing the pointlessness, the sun is now shining.

I must admit the colour issue has bugged me quite a bit, I have read quite a lot of conflicting advice on the subject. Most of my images are currently taken in Adobe RGB and print out from Photoshop perfectly, however when I convert them to the srgb for the web I have to re-saturate the image in an attempt to make it look anything like the printed version.

Was that the predecessor to 2112. I prefer A Farewell To Queens.
