Have to agree with you Horst it's nothing against SRS personally, Karlo I do actually run my own company and when this sort of thing happens, as it will in all businesses, we always make sure the customer is happy first as long as we are sure it's not their fault before we move forward to the manufacturer. The customer in all fairness has bought the item from the supplier in good faith so it's our policy to try and keep the customer for future purchases if possible which unfortunately means that we have to take a hit now and again, as I stated earlier not always possible!
I'm sure SRS and Neil will sort this problem out and hope I haven't upset anyone over my posts it's just I am a firm believer that the retailer usually holds the key in sorting these problems out.

I'm sorry if you think I thought you didn't care because I have no doubt you do and as I've said I have never had a problem with SRS its just sometimes we forget to sort the customer out first and then argue the point with the relevant parties, not always possible I know but sometimes it's the best way!

It's never straightforward as you say and i'm sure you are indeed working with all parties to come to an acceptable outcome but in my case the manufacturer was actually saying we had damaged the car as well and it was only when i suggested we have an independant agent take the car apart, bit by bit, and see who was actually at fault and if it was not me then agree to pay for all the expense and compensation did the supplier change his mind and agree to replace the car and seek reimbursement from the manufacturer. I know these situations can get very tense but surely you have been in the game long enough to decide weather or not you think Neil has damaged his camera or not and if you honestly believe he hasn't then do a deal with him and get it repaired or replaced.

As I stated I have always had a good service with SRS but I would have thought that as the product was purchased through them then they should have either repaired or replaced the faulty item and then claimed the cost back from the manufacturers. I had this some years ago with a new car that was rubbish and the dealer from who I bought it from said it was the manufacturers responsibility to replace it but after many many emails and letters to all sorts of people the dealer finaly accepted his failings and replaced the car with a different type.
As far as I'm concerned I would still purchase items from SRS but maybe be just a bit more careful about what the process is with faulty goods!

I have always had a good service with SRS but it looks like they are trying to offset their responsibility on this one and I am a great believer in letting other potential customers know of any failings in a suppliers shortcomings and would personally think twice in future if I was going to purchase anything from SRS, there are plenty of suppliers out there so why take a chance on a suspect one with your hard earned money?

Hi all, going to buy a flash and was thinking of the Pentax AF360fgz11 or the Metz 58AF-2 but SRS said the Metz 44AF1 was a good buy at the moment but are they just trying to get rid of their old stock? Is it better to stay with the Pentax brand for future updates ect. Don't use a flash much but with grandchildren now I might be using it a bit more!
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

I upgraded from a Kr to a K3 about 4 months ago and love it, really glad I did. I find it has better image quality, its definitely quieter and with the weather proofing there's no need to worry about the rain. Having two control wheels and a top panel is also a plus. It's heavier than the Kr but the build quality is superb and it feels really comfortable in my hand. I know quite a few people argue about upgrading from a K5ii or the K5iis and maybe they have a good point but from a Kr I think it makes perfect sense!
