Hi folks, 10 years or so ago I used a film SLR and always had a UV filter on the lens just for protection. I also
used a circular polapolarizing filter and a close up filter from time to time.
Untill recently I'd given up on the SLR and used various types of compacts and bridge cameras (without lens filters).
I have at long last bought a used SLR (K10D) and bought a sigma 17-70 from another forum member. I was wondering how relevant lens filters are now in the Photoshop age and if other forum members used them at all, if so can you recommend which type and make are best value/image quality.

Hi Bettyswaolloks, im brand new to this in fact this is my first post so please forgive my ignorance/stupidity.
I recently bought a used K10d with 18-55 kit lens, I'm fairly happy with the camera but feel the lens needs replacing. I fancy the sigma 17-70 you have for sale, Iv'e read some stuff which says the sigma autofocus dosen't work on older pentax due to lack of contact pins, can you please tell me if the lens will function fully on my K10d. Could you also tell me how old the lens is and its condition (maybe post a picture of it) thanx very much.
