Either way, it's good to hear that's it's working as it should, and I'll loo forward to figuring out more about it. Thanks for taking the time to reassure me.
Cheers,
Steve

Sorry, yes, I should have worked on the crop first. I found pixel-peeper which did the 100% crop for me, which is now below.

I think you're right Neil, I should be more thorough before asking, when I'm likely over-reacting. I bought the KX with it's low light excellence in mind, as my current fuji has great low light, and I'd miss it if I lost it, so perhaps overreacted to my first run of shots. The 6400 ISO is a high one.
Thanks for your comments.

I finally got my KX today, and with the day off, spent a while playing with it (quite a while actually!).
While it's taking longer than I imagined to start getting better shots, I got some fun ones which I'm pleased with in the day today. This evening though I went walking in the local woods (Leasowes in Halesowen), and I'm astonished at some of the noise in the pictures. The ISO is high, but I'm used to higher ISO on my compact, and I've never seen anything like this.
I wonder if anyone has any advice please on whether this is normal, and I being over demanding, or suggestions on what settings I may have cocked up! I'e added a better daylight one, a medium one, and the final one the worst. If you download the full size last one you can see more clearly the noise.
Thanks for any suggestions, I'm hoping to learn quickly...
Steve

It's not my first forum (if my first camera forum)so I wouldn't worry about forum idiosyncrasy, its par for the course anywhere!
Thanks for all the welcome, I can't wait to get my hands on my new camera, so much so that I've borrowing my works Fuji s5700 just to play with the manual settings.
Looking forward to joining in.

I'm just waiting to get my new KX and reading the forum to learn more (and to buy stuff) so wanted to say hello.
I've been starting to read to find out a lot more about slr photography, and can't wait till my camera gets here.
Anyway, hi - I'm looking forward to taking part a little more.

I'm interested in this please, but having just registered can't send a PM.
I'm learning, so I hope you won't mind me asking questions. Reading about it suggests that the auto-focus only works with some camera/lens combinations. I can't find details though. Would you know how to check this with a KX please?
Thanks ever so much, please do feel free to PM me.
Thanks
Steve

I'm interested in this please, but having just joined, can't send private messages. I'm learning, but I'm assuming it's compatible with my soon to be delivered KX?
Thanks ever so much
Steve

I bought this recently on here prior to the arrival of my KX.
I bought too soon really, in my impatience to get going. I've concluded that I'm happier with the two shorter range lenses (I also got confused with the focal length and the multipliers.)
All of which is by way of saying, I'm selling it, as it arrived in excellent condition. £100. Comes with a lens hood. Collection from Birmingham/Brierley Hill, or I'll post. Alternatively I'm in Shepton Mallet from the 1st for a week.
Cheers
Steve
