I have for sale a Pentax AF200T flash. It will not do PTTL and TTL will not work on DSLRs from K10D onwards, but nonetheless this is a useful small handy carry around flash.
The reason is that it incorporates its own automatic sensor and has two automatic settings. On a K5 in 'P' mode the flash automatically sets the appropriate aperture on the camera.

It also has manual control with settings for Full/1/2,1/4,1/8 power.

This particular flash is very clean, with no corrosion in the battery compartment. The sale includes the case.

I prefer screw in filters for the reasons stated above. Be aware that using a polarising filter on the DA 55-300 can be troublesome. It is never a speed demon, but I have found it hunts a lot with a filter attached, no doubt the quite F5.8 max aperture at the long end does not help.

I have for sale a M42/K adapter, marked Asahi Pentax, Japan. The adapter does show some marks on the surface, but the threads and mount are fine. It is fully functional and working as designed.

Around the time I purchased my K10 circa early 2008 Silkypix was generally regarded on this forum as the software to use for RAW conversions. Adobe had not really got their act together with Lightroom and Photoshop was ACR/Photoshop was not really much better. The Silkypix interface was always clunky and certainly not very intuitive, but the output was really good if you stuck with it.

The version of Silkypix bundled with Pentax cameras was always a cut down version. It became more so when ISL split Silkpix into 2 products.

Adobe made big strides forward with LR 3 and more so with noise reduction in 4 and 5 takes it a step further to the extent that it is now my RAW convertor of choice.

The Developer Studio Pro version of Silkypix does most of what LR does, but you have to work at it and the interface is still very clunky, though it runs quite well on a very antiquated PC that I installed it on.

I downloaded the trial version of Silkypix because I wanted to play with some K3 PEFs. I have a fondness for PEFs over DNG that probably goes beyond logic, so do not ask me to explain it.

As a word of caution several Pentax flashguns have similar designations. For example AF400FTZ and AF400T can easily be confused, but their functionality is quite different. Also it pays to have a clear understanding of what is meant by PTTL Auto , TTL Auto and plain old fashioned Auto.

See Boz for a pretty comprehensive explanation link

As a recommendation I would look no further than the AF200T/AF280T. These guns were introduced with the 'Super A' as TTL flashguns, but being Pentax they wanted to ensure backward compatibility and so included automatic sensors on the flashguns. This feature was lost on the later AF400FTZ and AF330FTZ, something that I find severely limits their functionality on current Pentax DSLR's

The AF200T/A280T will not do PTTL and TTL will not work on DSLRs from the K10D onwards, but nonetheless they are very useful reliable units.

They incorporate their own automatic sensors and they both have two automatic settings. Set a K5 to 'P' mode, chose one of the auto settings on the flash and the appropriate aperture is set on the camera.

Both offer manual control, the AF200T has settings for Full/1/2,1/4,1/8 power.

The AF280T has the advantage of more power and a full tilt and swivel head, so that would be my choice. They do come up quite regular on eBay at a reasonable price.

There were three listed as part of a larger sale a couple of weeks ago.
