Tubes all the way, there is nothing between the lens and the sensor to muddy the picture. The key to macro photography is light and you will loose light with either setup but adding the additional glass will harm your images.

I had exactly the same happen when I exported a dozen photos to JPEG using Faststone, the same photos were previously imported and exported without this pink line in Lightroom so it looks software related.

I've gone from a K-7 to a K-5iis and the difference is huge in ISO performance, AF speed and accuracy and sharpness. But if I had already owned a K-5 I wouldn't look at upgrading to the II or the IIs because I don't think it is enough of a jump, I'd wait for the next model.
