Hi Matt, I don't know what I was equipment as it was 3/4 and Pentax told me that it was the firmware only needed upgrading. I used IR/Radio remote triggers and also two hotshoe adapaters. I did mention polarity and Pentax said just upgrade your firmware

Hi All

I was at the net-model Charity Cardiff Group Shoot recently and I was having no joy in getting any signal based wired/wireless triggering to work. Pentax this morning said update the firmware to v1.30 and apperently this was needed and they cannot give me confirmation that it will be sorted purely by updating. Certainly it seems that Pentax has a lot more compatability issues with studio systems and I am wondering if anyone else is having this exact fault. I don't want to pay out for a studio when I know Pentax cannot garuntee this will work.

my 28-200mm sigma macro is just amazing - I do not use any other lens virtually. The macro results are just beautiful and it is the best buy I ever had!

I upgraded to the K10D for my reasons...I have a DL still. The autofocus for the car shows (taking motion shots) is vastly quicker on the K10D and the image definition I have to agree is just amazing! The anti-shake works really well and the 28-200mm AF IF f3.5 lens I use gives really great exposures too. It seems to suit the K10D down to the ground. I'd suggest borrowing a K10D and do some test shots side by side and see if it would make any difference due to different hardware.

I have tried all the updates and mine are not recognised at all and I mainly use the K10D now so I am working in TIF til the last stage - It's a small work around and is no problem (gives me an extra chance for a cuppa)

I tend to have my own work flow but for the DL and K10D I have I use Photo Lab 3 to convert them to TIF-8 bit channel and use PSP 11 that way (as there is no fix for that package at the moment recognising RAW files from either of my cameras) and I amend to save to .jpg quality only at the last step. With that method I do tend to get really good A4 prints that are very clear and crisp. I have used this method to do larger canvas prints with great sucess as well. I always shoot in RAW on both my DSLR's.

Having had my 360 flash unit casing crack now on my on two major impacts at an event I went into my local store - I tried the Sigma unit on both my DL and K10D and it worked fine on both (I bought the unit). I have updated both to their latest versions of firmware as well before I went into my local store and tested it. I don't know if that would have any impact as well (I doubt it mind without testing further).
