I have had some surprisingly good results with my manual focus Takumar_A 28mm = roughly 42mm in full format - it even has orange markers on it for 'snapshot' focusing!

The AF200 works ok in the K-M using aperture priority decide - what ISO you want, then work out the aperture on the scale on the back of the camera. True - it isn't TTL but I had mine in my camera bag before I bought the K-M!

The AL11(2) has an extra coating on it to help make the most of the K20D's sensor. The DAL is the lightweight lens introduced with the K-M - plastic mount - no distance scale. The Exif data thinks its an AL11, which is confusing.
I notice that when various magazine tests have been carried out the AL11 has sometimes crept on to the K200 & K-M resulting in less noise but same consistency in the bar charts!
I would have tried to buy an AL11 with my K-M if I had known the difference at the time.

Thanks JR - valid point - maybe I do need to consider a more substantial tripod - or even monopod. On my moon shots I can get the craters near the circumference into focus but the centre tends to turn to mush? Maybe I am pushing it too far.

I am not complaining since I am still learning how to use the K-M (after 9 months!),Lol

I ended up buying pre-used Silver FA 80-320 from SRS. (I already had from my film SLR's a 28mm Takumar A, 50mm f1.7 A, 35-80 A and a 75-150 F4 M)
Since the K-M was an Early retirement/redundancy present from me to me, I had to be careful with the pennies, also in the manual it states that if you put a non Pentax lens on the camera your garantee may no longer apply?? I did not want to take that gamble so......

My 80-320 is a little soft & fuzzy at the long end but it only cost £119 from SRS. I believe most 55-300's are a lot more & the 300 F4 very much more £'s.
I really bought it to supplement my 75/150 which was a bind to set up when going for grab shots, I am new to PentaxUser (but have used Pentax slr's since the mid 80's)but this is the link to my 80-320 set at Flickr:
