Love all three images, there is something about the light in all of them that really appeals to me. As they stand I prefer the K200D images, however cropping the top 50% from the first image and presenting it in a letterbox style gives it a completely different feel. I am a little torn though as I do like negative space but maybe image one has a little too much (for my taste).

I just love our hobby - no right or wrong but lots of opinions and preferences! (and the chance to see so many inspiring images)

The K-3 iii was on my wishlist but it's been a really odd ride, in terms of pricing hasn't really changes much and it's fairly niche in terms of not many on the second hand market either. By the time I get there it will be quite out of date but still running at close to original pricing. The monochrome option is something else to filter out now and I find ebay hard to tie down to UK only (am I missing something here? - sort by near me seems to work ok but still a lot of Japan listings I'm not ready to commit to).

I'm still running an original K-3 so would very much like to upgrade that now. K-1 in a similar pricing area but obviously wildly different strengths and weaknesses. I believe most of my key lenses are crop so that's the piece that puts me off the K-1 addition personally.
On Ebay you can select UK only which will filter out the rest of the world, but does drastically reduce the options available. As a matter of course I always select UK listings only as all other will invariably attract VAT and import duties (plus a hefty handling charge from the carrier for collecting the tax due!)

I have just sold a K3iii on Ebay in the UK - when I listed it there were not any other SH options available in the UK and to be honest the Japanese offerings after tax were almost as expensive as new in the UK

The quesion of critques was raised in a recent competition, this was my take on it then:

'Flan, many thanks for the competition and your critique, I get a lot from the competitions even if I don't submit an image.

I take your point on judging and commenting. I think your suggestion of a comment/critique of 1st, 2nd and 3rd has some merit and is a reasonable minimum but not too onerous.

But for myself I've found that taking the effort to comment/critique all the image does take quite an effort but is rewarding in itself. It encourages/forces me to spend some time looking at each image which helps me to decide the placings and hopefully provide a constructive analysis of each image. Though it does make my head hurt a bit!'
I agree with with Mike's final paragraph. I also think that having taken the time to comment / critique each image does help me think about my own submissions a little more.

With regard to the "Pavement" subject, I was quite enthused by it and then equally devastated to find all my favoured images were a day or two outside of the set timeframe - but such is life.
Still a few days to put that right though

Thank you Lenny. Having made the investment in the K3iii monochrome there will certainly be more to come

Just popped onto MPB and see that they have 4 K3iii Mono bodies along with 6 Pentax 17 cameras - maybe we just live in a more disposable age?

As I have posted before I am preparing to part with my K-3 mono converted body - not least because now having the K3 Mkiii Monochrome it rarely gets taken off the shelf.

I suspect the numbers on sale may be, as you have suggested, down to those who wanted to play and are now moving on. It is an expensive addition to your kit if you do not embrace monochrome as a major part of your photography. The ability to convert normal colour files to B&W probably suffices for most situations. From my own personal use I like the extra clarity and more specifically the added discipline of shooting with the K3iii Mono.

Good luck with your efforts to thin down your 300mm lens collection. I have been trying to do the same with my candidate for sale being a mint condition FA* 300 F2.8 - today got offered a guitar in part exchange! As a my only musical skill is with Brass I had to pass it up
