It is years since I last went to that part of the coast, your images are certainly a prod to get my act together and visit again soon. Great set.

Great set Steve. That lens does provide a different perspective. I am not familiar with the lens,. does it support full frame or just APSC?

Agree 100%. Not just for cameras, either. It's good engineering practice, particularly for things with moving parts. My central heating system will sometimes run its pumps when the heating hasn't been on for a while, it keeps them fighting fit for when they are needed to keep the house warm.

I agree 100%. I try to cycle through my collection on a regular basis, reminds me why I wanted to keep each of them as well

In fairness both of my camera repairs (Q and K3iii) took an extended period because major components were needed and not in stock anywhere in Europe at the time. The lens repair at 1stAid was quick as the main component to be replaced was the actual mount so probably more common and held in stock

Where ever you go with it I wish you good luck - any kit failing is a real pain so the sooner it is up and running again the better.

My only experience with John Pye was for an issue with a Q body. Took forever to get resolved and turned out that all they did was send it to Pentax European repair centre in France.
I have used other repairers since who have been really good, particularly 1st Aid Repairs in Kent who did a great job on a carelessly dropped K3iii and 60-250 lens!. You can call them on 01892 525327
