For 125£ it's no brainer, buy it, if you don't like it, you can always sell it
+1, if you haven't already done so.

Although it's the least favoured of the Pentax 85mm lenses, it's still very good. It's prone to fringing in high contrast scenes, but having shot with mine for 18 months or so, I've never found it to be bad enough to require PP.

I think you may have difficulty mounting it on a Pentax DSLR, since the focus mechanism looks as if it will be obstructed by the viewfinder/flash.

I have a Vivitar mirror lens that I can only mount on extension tubes for the same reason.

In answer to your other questions:

b) I don't know how it should work, but it doesn't sound quite right and the description suggests that seller isn't confident either.

c) Ricoh 50mm lenses are quite good (as are most 50mm lenses), but this may be a moot point, since it is unlikely to fit on a DSLR!

Have you any photos taken with the lens ?.
I'm afraid all of the pictures I can find with it have my kids in, so as a general rule, I don't post them on line, but I'll take a few samples at the weekend.

When I first bought this lens I was impressed with the quality both as a macro lens and as a general walkaround lens, and if I could only have 1 prime lens then this would probably be it!
+1

I have one and am very pleased with it - small, light, sharp, beautiful colours and excellent build.

I use it mainly as a walkaround and when I'm travelling light as a means of shooting landscapes and also having a macro capability without having to lug a 100mm lens around.

In an ideal world, it would be a bit faster and have nicer bokeh (both of which would, I'm sure, lead to compromises in other areas), but for what it is, it is an excellent lens.

I'm having a clear out of some of my lenses to make space and raise funds for my next round of LBA.

For sale is my Tokina AT-X 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8 AF lens. I've had it for six months and have been very pleased with it, but use my Sigma 24-70 more (for the extra 4mm on the wide end). It makes an excellent portrait zoom on APS-C DSLRs

I believe that it has the distinction of being the fastest zoom available in Pentax mount and is very well engineered (made from metal, as opposed to plastic in the Sigma and Tamron equivalents).

It is in quite good condition, although shows signs of some use, with wear to the paint on the filter ring and some of the lettering on the distance scale, as shown in the pictures. The optics are in good shape, although there are a couple of small marks on the front element (about a third of the way down, just to the right of centre in the picture) and one or two specks of internal dust - nothing unusual for a lens of the age and nothing that would affect the pictures.

It is supplied with front/rear caps.

Looking at the going rate on eBay, I think that £125 delivered within the UK is reasonable and I'd be happy to investigate postage options to send it further afield if required. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (with the buyer covering the fees) please.
