So i went out in the garden this afternoon and got these shots there not great because to be honest i am still a bit overwhelmed by all the settings and combinations i need for certain situations etc .
If anyone knows a website that explains stuff simply then that would be much appreciated like for example what iso, shutter speed, aperture etc combination should be used for what conditions.
I think i would get better results if i had a longer lens not that the kit lens isn't a good lens but considering i am trying to get wildlife my army style crawls down the garden can still only do so much Lol got some grass stains though .
All shot in best quality JPEG
K anyway enough waffling heres a few pics.

Only 2 small problems i've encountered so far is its a american version which means i had to change the plug on the charger cable because the supplied travel adapter was to convert european to british plugs not american to british but that was easy. The other thing is i got a card with it obviously saying sign up the warranty on pentaxusa.com so i went on pentax.co.uk but can't see anything about warrantys, and also if its a american camera brought in the uk does that mean i need a international warranty ?

And got to get myself out of essex everynow and again i guess theres the fair share of wildlife but the only thing basildon is known for is Depeche Mode Lol
1 last bit of advice need for now do i buy this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-PENTAX-K10D-10MP-DIGITAL-CAMERA-18-55mm-Lens-2GB_W0QQitemZ180136050182QQihZ008QQcategoryZ31388QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Or i could wait a week or 2 closer to when i get payed and buy a K10D with kit lens from jessops along with a Sandisk 2GB and a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD (Pentax AF) all for £629 save £115 apparently Lol

So anyway i'l explain from the start at the moment i have a Panasonic FZ5 bridge camera and i've used it a bit but always been dissapointed, not because its crap just because its not enough for what i want to take photos of.
Therefore i have decided getting a DSLR is the only way to go even if they are expensive. So i have spent hmm well weeks looking at cameras and its driving me nuts Lol i spent about a week going between a Sony Alpha and a Pentax K10D and then decided the sony is not good enough well not as well built, etc.
Recently i was going to buy the K10D after ruling out all the other cameras i compared it too, but then people started suggesting i get a Nikon D80 because its faster and will be better suited to wildlife photography and that nikon has a bigger collection of telephoto lenses.
However when i compared specs side by side like on dpreview.com i could not see much difference infact the pentax was better because of anti-shake and anti-dust and weather proof. But everything to do with speed seems to be the same, one thing i can't seem to find out is to do with how well the Continuous AF of both the Nikon And Pentax compare as i understand this is important for what i need.
The thing is i have seen some great pictures of wildlife taken with the K10D and Sigma telephoto lenses, plus the nikon lenses are obviously more expensive, plus i like the idea of all those older cheaper tele photo lenses for the pentax which gain anti-shake through the body.
So do i buy a K10D which i have seen for £489 with kit lense and 2gb sd card or do i buy the D80 which is gonna be alot more expensive.
Oh and also hi am new to the forum but of course you probably know that lol.

However they should concentrate on bringing out some big telephoto lenses for the k10
