Ok so feedback taken onboard, the edits are now done on the original images..you may just need to refresh your browser to implement the changes.

South Stack shot is now a tighter crop to take the lighthouse off the centre point, it had a slight colour cast which is now removed

Removed the purple cast from the last image

thanks

Thanks Deryn,

Exposure time was 1 min 30 seconds and aperture F11, there wasn't any close foreground so even F5.6 would have been fine, I closed it down to F11 to get the slightly longer exposure for the cloud effect

Beautiful sunset shot.
I wonder how long you'd need to stay to catch the light illuminated...
It was actually working at the time...this was the only shot I took during the evening as I was demo-ing how to use NDgrads whilst hosting a one-to-one, he captured several shots including a couple with the light, fortunately as I live relatively close I'll get the chance again

Thanks for the feedback, excellent as always

The slight difference in the tower brightness is due to me being a little heavy with the clarity slider, I'll sort that out

The purple is a result of using the 10 stop for the last shot, I'll reduce the purple saturation in ACR which should make it much less obvious

Thanks for the comments guys,

Stuey, yes the ferry just came along at the right time, I'd only just setup so it was a bit of a rush getting the shot in.

The second shot was mainly to get some colour into the foreground as the coastal flora looks wonderful along the coastlines at the moment, I wasn't really expecting it as it's normally around earlier and dying off by now but the poor weather has obviously held it back...I have a couple more to process with even more emphasis on the flora

Bizarre. I think my K5 is up around 25k actuation's & neither the card or battery door has ever had a 'tendency' open. Maybe the reviewer has strange 'test' copy, or was just trying to think of something to write... or was just an idiot.

Maybe the card door would open if you were wearing gel grip gloves like a golfer or warehouse operative?? Bizarre.
Never had a single problem with either, I guess that it must be down to a slight QC issue somewhere on the production line.

In general though it looks a fair review...interesting for current Gen1 K5 owners as they suggest the only reason to upgrade would be the AF improvement

It's been a while but the sun has appeared at last. The first two shots are of South Stack Lighthouse, the first quickly taken whilst hosting a one-to-one workshop on Sunday evening, the second a daytime shot from the rather precarious cliffs approaching South Stack

The final shot is a long exposure of "The Church in the Sea" at Aberffraw

Thanks

Hi,

Looking at the cloud cover I'm guessing the original is very flat as there's not much pleasant light in evidence. Please don't take this the wrong way but sometimes it's best not to spent time PP-ing a shot which lacks something like decent light, they rarely end up looking like a great image. I think you'd be far better off checking out sunrise/sunset positions at the location and revisiting to get the shot you were hoping for on this visit, you'd then find that hardly any processing would be needed let alone HDR.

Just my thoughts
