dont want to get too mushy but my wife gave birth to our son Samuel at 6lbs 9 oz and all is well so far so the prefect christmas present for us - currently too tired to get out taking pics but will get back to it in a few weeks

I love my K7 personally, the faster fps and better metering make quite a differance plus i find the on board spirit level useful

live view to help with nd grad positioning
spirit level on rear screen to check level
bracket +1 ev either side
cable release or electronic remote release
check histogram but remember its only for the jpeg so its an approximation

it really depends on what you need to use it for

I do mostly landscape so for me it would be the K7 for the weather sealing plus the iq is fine - depending on the lens of course, i rarely go above iso 800 and its still good then - if you can afford it go for the k5 or wait for a year until the next "milestone development new model" and the k5 will have dropped in price but then of course you will be in the same quandry again but the weather sealing is a serious plus in my opinion.
