funny you should say about a soligor as thats whats on the case that it lives in but
theres know way of knowing if that was the original case I have had it a few years I think I bought it of someone second hand can't realy remember.

Thanks for your help I ended up buying a MZ-7 with 28-80mm zoom £46.55 and
a Sf7 body for £10.99 I will keep me eye out for a *ist at a resonable price. Just need to buy some decent lenses now.

I been looking to buy a Pentax *ist 35mm
what would be good used price for one of these. I've been looking on Ebay
but there dosn't seem to be alot about is there a reason for this ?

thanks for all the input certainly lots to think about. Just to shed a little light on what I'm trying to achieve is that I take or plan to take a lot of black and white shots and I can delvelop the films my self, so cutting out the need to put them into my local shop for developing and printing I would normaly get prints back at the standard 6 x 4 so any scanner that could achieve something close to that would be ok.

ie: streams the sea etc to blur the water.
my question is, is there a formula or rule of thumb to
work out the exsposure time to achive this, the filters I
have are ND4's.
I know its probably the same for film or digital but just
to let you know I'm using a film slr.
