Thanks to you for such a smooth transaction. I am glad you like it; I am envious and almost want it back!

Best wishes
Lee

Reluctantly, I am selling my 43mm Ltd lens.

It is the original silver variety, Made in Japan.

Serial Number: 0006527.

Yes, I have had it a long time and from new. It has always performed flawlessly. Most recently, I have used it on my K5 (now sold) where it really shone. I can supply some sample images taken with it on the K5 if you are interested. I have also used it successfully on micro 4/3. Having said all that, it has only ever had light use and has been lovingly cared for.

Comes with original screw-in hood and push on lens cap, rear cap and original leather pouch. Sadly, I no longer have the original box. I think I discarded it because I never thought I'd sell the lens.

Reason for selling? I no longer have any Pentax SLRs, having migrated to Fuji X-Pro. I know I could get an adapter to use it on the Fuji and I know that one day I might return to Pentax but, as much as I suspect I will regret selling it, I'd rather have funds for more kit than a jewel of a lens sitting there unused.

I will include RMSD and am asking £395.

Thanks for looking,
Lee

Since buying into the Fuji X line, I am selling off kit that is rarely being used.

I have a K20D + standard zoom lens (Mark II version).

Both are absolutely pristine, boxed, all caps, hood, cables, charger etc.

Only around 2230 shots taken. A reluctant sale as I have enjoyed the camera.

UK buyer only please.

My asking price is £260 to include UK postage and insurance.

Please PM me if interested.

Thanks
Lee

This is a reluctant sale as I do love the camera but since buying into the Fuji X line, the K5 is rarely being used.

I purchased a K5 + 18-135mm from SRS at the end of January 2011. Thus, there is almost 9 months remaining on the 2 year warranty.

Both are absolutely pristine, boxed, all caps, hood, cables, charger etc.

No sensor stains! Around 3500 shots taken.

UK buyer only please.

My asking price is £800 to include UK postage and insurance.

Thanks
Lee

OK, so who's got one then? Anyone mad enough to be getting one even though they already have the black version? Just think of the number of lenses one could get ...

Is the improved grip really that different?

I need to stop thinking about this.

Thanks for all the comments. It seems this subject is not as 'black and white' as one might think.

The reason I am pursuing this is because I am not always 100% happy with my 'real world' image sharpness, so am just trying to understand why and if AF calibration is one thing to try, then so be it.

Ken

Thanks. I'll give another go with a printed test chart. I had the 43mm at f2.8, I thought we had to shoot fairly wide open for these tests.

With the zoom, by 'tight' end do you mean at the wide end? I was trying it around 35mm, so near the wide end but not widest.

Sorry if I am being dim on this. OK, I'll go and do a printed chart test.

Is there a consensus here on the most accurate or a favourite amongst Pentax owners?

3 battery test - I may have this all wrong, but place 3 batteries (AA size is ideal) on a table, at a 45 degree angle; line up your camera and lens so that they fill as much of the frame as possible, with the camera on a tripod and level with the batteries. Space the batteries far enough apart so that the central circle in the viewfinder only covers the central one.

OK, camera now on minimum aperture, choose a not too high ISO, central AF point, 2 sec timer (which also does mirror up and no SR) and try a few AF adjustments.

But only if you think you have a problem. And, even then, you may not be sure, I mean how often do you take pics like that in real life?

I am only persevering because because I think the K5 image quality is the best I have seen on a digital camera ...

I don't know what to suggest if your favourite lens is a zoom ... I am not sure myself ...

Hi Smeggy

In spite of my sometimes 'love hate' relationship with the K5 and (18-135mm lens), it is mostly love, or at least admiration ...

in case anyone thought I was 'having a go', which I wasn't - oh for more free time to play ...
