Any interest? This is a great lens, incredibly sharp and lovely build quality, but does it not have the desirability of the Pentax lenses? Have I priced it wrong (it is £369 new at SRS)? I only went with the Pentax DFA 100mm for the extra working distance and the WR.

Any advice or (sensible) offers?

I know Max Spielmann still process 35mm films and will scan them to CD. They have quite a few stores around so you can take them in rather than post them. Not the best quality but pretty cheap from what I recall - I have used them to process films that I have run through old Pentax SLRs for testing. They provide high res and low res images on the CD. If there are any your relative wants higher quality prints from you can always get the negatives re-scanned / printed at a more upmarket establishment who may even be able to do some colour correction.

Here's a link linkto the relevant page on their website and you can also access the store locator from here.

Very nice shot. How did you light it? It looks like it's glowing from within.

Still think he was looking for trouble
I somewhat agree with the looking for trouble sentiment.

I'd like to think that if any one of us explained we were amateur photographers enjoying a hobby, entering a competition etc. then that would help de-fuse things. Even showing the photos we'd taken could help, even though they may have no right to ask to see them. If after trying to get them on your side then someone like those security guards was still aggressive then we would need to fall back on our rights. If we explained ourselves just maybe some people would actually help us get the pictures we were after. I can live in hope.

I'm personally less concerned about dealing with idiot security guards than this general feeling these days that if you take photographs of children you must be a pervert. I must say it inhibits me slightly. There are some classic candid photographs from the 50's, 60's and 70's that may never have been taken if the attitudes of today existed then.
