This is the more recent, weather-resistant version of the Pentax 100mm D FA Macro. It is is in mint condition with no marks to the body or glass. It is boxed and includes front and rear caps, lens hood, user manual and the (unused) Pentax pouch; all of these are also mint, original items.

Like the other lens I'm selling to fund my recent purchase of a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 (see my Classified Ad entry for my Pentax DA 55-300mm) I've only actually used this lens a couple times since I got it new in January. I've decided I'm more interested in football photography rather than macro.

I'm looking for £390 including RMSD, bank transfer preferred.

I'll post some pictures of the lens soon.

Another to consider is the Sigma 18-50 DC EX, which also has the constant F2.8 through the zoom range.

Very pleased with mine, and the odd one appears in the various classifieds every now and then.

+1. It's quite chunky but I like the solid feel and IQ is excellent for a zoom. It was noticeably better than the Pentax kit lens that came with my original K10D. As soon as I saw the first shots from it I was convinced I'd made the right choice.

This lens is in mint condition with no marks to the body or glass. It is the more expensive metal-mount, quick shift version. It is boxed and includes front and rear caps, lens hood, user manual and the Pentax pouch; all of these are also original and mint. I've only actually used the lens two or three times since I got it new for Christmas and now the weather has picked up, and I thought I might use it, I went and bought a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 today instead. So this lens is surplus to requirements now.

Looking for £225 including RMSD, bank transfer preferred.

I'll post some pictures of the lens in the next day or two.

I think these are excellent Gary. The first and last are the best for me. This is an area (football photography) that I want to get into and I'll be looking to start a little more modestly with the local team I used to manage and coach.

I notice you have more action shots on your thread with the manual focus Tokina (excellent pictures also!). Is that simply because the 300mm range got you closer or was it easier to focus manually on the player you wanted? Just wondered what technique you used to make sure the AF focused on the player you wanted or did the K-5 get right most of the time on its own?

I have used Bonusprint, Blurb and Bobbooks. My favourite is Bobbooks link. Their standard books are very good quality but they also do photographic paper books if you wanted higher quality for weddings, say.

No longer manufactured is intriguing.... if it is accurate. I wouldn't necessarily trust Jessops on this but if it is then it raises the question of whether there is going to be a replacement? Also is this the same for the FA 50mm 1.4 that also the discounted and sold out of - although that supposedly had been discontinued some time ago but still seems to be produced.

One theory for Jessops discounting, explained by some of their staff and posed on another thread here, was that they were clearing out stock because Pentax demand had gone quiet with Pentax not announcing a new DSLR - nothing about stopping manufacture of this lens model.
