Hi Rob,
IMHO your argument is floored, being based on hearsay / rumour. Remember no one has published a review of a production K-7 yet......
It seems to me that you have deep rooted dislike of the K-7 for some reason :
A video camera without auto focus is less attractive to me than one with.
That said, the spec I've linked above looks impressive!
IMHO

You don't think the alleged lack of auto-focus on a video, sorry stills camera would be a fundamental out-take?
Pentax should at least give the user the choice...unless the Mrs could train as a focus puller.

That's why I drive a T5 and not a 330i.
In marketing terms....cost leadership comes to mind....loved all my Pentax cameras....why pay more for a brand?

Early adopters would certainly get bent out of shape if the alleged flaws could not be rectified by s/w updates.

Taken from what must be the most exhaustive preview I've seen yet on the K-7 on imaging-resource.com
And this on auto focus in video mode...."Contrast detection autofocus is possible during video shooting, but is not continuous; rather the user must trigger the autofocus to operate when required, with the lens likely to briefly seek around the focus point before locking."...HHHMMMM!
Furthermore, the menus sound like a mine field...too sophisticated to the point of being spoilt? Or just what the technophile/professional wants?
I'll stick with my K20D for now.
