Bought late last year on these very forums, in excellent condition - only selling as I managed to nab a Pentax 55-300 recently.

Can sort some pics of it later if you're not sure what they look like Comes with a lens bag and front & rear caps plus hood.

Shall we say £95 + shipping?

Happy to take payment via Paypal, cheque, bank transfer.

Richard

[edited to add that a hood is included too!)

I use 7dayshop's own Eneloop type rechargables in my *istDS and they last for AGES. Don't tend to fire off hundreds of images, but the same set stays in the camera for a couple of months (with a fair few pics taken over that timeframe) until I think "I really ought to recharge the batteries just in case". I do also have a set of lithiums ready as spares just in case whenever I'm out and about on something I'm taking piucs of I don't want to miss.

I've just joined the club too!

Ordered K5 + 18-55 from SRS just now (depsite Amazon being cheaper at the moment). Should be a bit of a step up from my *istDS

RHALLMAN - thanks for pointing out the Jessops issue. They did have an offer on about 4-6 weeks ago though, I believe. Comet and PC World are another two stores worth looking at, but I stick by my Argos suggestion. Me and the wife looked at it in Harrods (£500), before settling on the Argos deal. The £120 saved will go towards buying accessories for the camera.
Yes, the Argos price seems to be best for the Kr with 18-55. Just spotted that the dual lens deal is available from Dixons for £450 - and again Quidco membership will get you some cashback.

...And remember that if you have a load of Tesco clubcard vouchers you can exchange them for Jessops vouchers so that £10 tesco vouchers = £20 Jessops. Also if you're signed up to Quidco you can get 3% cashback from Jessops. Can't see a 2 lens deal with the K-r on Jessop, but they have it with the standard 18-55 for £399. Unless you do the Tesco clubcard thing, then Argos looks a better bet.

However, SRS have the two lens deal for £479 - 18-55 and 50-200 lenses.

I would be tempted to just get the body + 18-55 - see how you get on and whether you want another lens. The 50-200 comes up secondhand quite often for not much money, and at lest you'll know if a telephoto's what you want by that stage.

Camera Price Buster is quite handy - though doesn't cover all the retailers so still worth a bit of searching. However, I think you'll be scraping around for £10/20 difference, and when welll respected dealers like those mentioned above are doing it at near enough the best price, then why quibble?

Yes, so I assume they're basically offering the cashback on the body, but making it plain that it applies whether you buy body only or with lens. That's my take on it, anyway.

Huzzah! I have been holding off from buying a K5 as I wondered if there would be a cashback happening this Autumn.

Thanks folks! I did crop that second shot a bit, but not much - as has been said, when you only have 6Mb to play with you soon lose resolution. I think I was about 5' away. Took a few minutes to get that close, though.

Here's one I took as I approached, while it was still hunched on the niger seed feeder.

Not a great pic, but it does demonstrate the lovely bokeh of that 100mm lens.

It wasn't feeding on the niger, just resting/roosting. When I got a bit closer it hopped onto the peanuts, which is when I was able to catch the other pic. We do get goldfincehs though. Out in the fields the other week there was a flock of at least 50 feasting on the thistle seeds. Couldn't get close to them of course, and didn't have my camera with me (doh).

Spotted this little chap on the feeder outside my window this morning.

Here he is from inside the house

Thought I'd see how close I could get to it from outside. He hopped on to the peanut feeder but was more interested in watching me than flying off!

Seems quite late in the year for them to still have the fluffy feathers!
