Anyone out there own or used one of these beasties?

Is it worth the increase over a Pentax DA* 300mm F4.

I've just updated both my K-5 and my K-X.

That's the first time I've done it and it's dead easy, so I say "why not?"

Hotel shower cap!

Cheap - effective - disposable.

Works for me!

Stunning shot. I found the climbers eventually.

I would venture however, that the shot consists of a tad more than 2 million pixels. 2 million megapixels perhaps.

Contact lenses are just not an option for many people.
Agreed, John.

And I also had a 'phobia' about things going in my eyes after a wee mishap when I was a teenager which resulted in minor surgery to my cornea whilst I was conscious and had my head clamped in a frame to keep it still - not nice.

But like Jeff StClair, I decided that I could do without the various hassles of glasses (the motor-bike helmet really was a problem) and decided to give them a try.

Without exageration, they really do make such a huge difference. If you can get over that initial trepidation, they are very easy to use. Give it a try - what have you got to lose?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again ...

CONTACT LENSES.

I use multi-focal contacts (concentric rings of differing focal lengths) to replace my vari-focals. They take a bit of getting used to, but free you from the hassle of "face-furniture".

I cant recommend them highly enough.

Hello All,

I am looking for a remote control for my K-5 which will work over a distance of around 10 metres. I want to disguise and mount the camera in a tree in my garden and "catch" birds as they fly to and from various bird-feeders.

I want to be able to trigger the camera from my kitchen window which is further than the 5m achiveable with the two Pentax units available from SRS.

Any of you guy and gals used any other remotes which would work over the required 10 metres?

I have an 18-135 and it's think it's a terrific walkabout/general purpose lens. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Congrats and well done and all the other good wishes too.

Good luck with this venture.
