The M 85mm f/2 lens is also very good, though wide open it's not too sharp and has very bad blue fringing. It's also compact and the cheapest Pentax 85mm lens you're likely to find, though still not particularly common.

I had an epiphany today - instead of working my bum off for months on end to try and buy DA* lenses why dont I just go ahead and try some of these cracking M primes?

I look forward to getting a decent 50mm 1.7 and then look into something a a bit longer.
