I went to see this classic play at Guildford last week. Excellent, and if you get the chance do try and catch it on it's tour.

One of the leading roles is played by none other than forum member Bill Ward. Despite having performed twice that day he came out with us after for a drink. It was great to be able to discuss the play itself and it's nuances, but also to chat a bit about photography too.

Thank you Bill for taking the time.

Ricoh have given us perhaps 10 years of Pentax cameras and lenses that have made no serious money for them.

Well done Ricoh I say.

I had a few friends round for "eclipse" drinks.

At the max totality we went to my front garden to look at it with the aid of a colander and white paper It worked perfectly.

What I was completely unprepared for was the effect of the sun shining through leaves on the front of my house. Quite extraordinary.

ps. ground floor left window.... Rudy photobombed me !

I have taken many pictures of little Rips over the years , both formal portrait, and candid fun. The one I keep coming back to is this... shot on film with a Super A.

Bless you all for the lovely words.

Digital media gets a lot of bad press these days , but here is an example where I have been uplifted by your kind thoughts.

I have not been posting on here for many months, for which I apologise. For the last 18 months I have been going through a very acrimonious dissolution of my civil partnership which is still ongoing. This has brought huge legal bills, and led to me being excluded from my own house for three months. Thanks to the Family Court I am back here now with my dogs, enjoying what is likely to be the last summer in my house.

Some of you will remember my middle dog Ripley. He sadly passed away last month. He had epilepsy and whilst I had his seizures under control through drugs, the cumulative effect weakens the heart and he went into complete heart failure at the vets.

Now that my legal workload is reduced, even if temporarily, I hope to be posting images and engaging in forum chat once again.

Please forgive my absence.

Peter

....and received in double quick time, thanks John.

As with everything I have taken off your hands, it is in even better condition than your description.

Very happy.

The ME Super and ME F had very good viewfinders with 0.95% magnification and 92% coverage, better than the original ME (0.87/92%)

Best of all in the manual focus era of SLR's from Pentax was the MX at 0.97magnification and 95% coverage.
