I have been somewhat absent.

I have not been posting on here for many months, for which I apologise. For the last 18 months I have been going through a very acrimonious dissolution of my civil partnership which is still ongoing. This has brought huge legal bills, and led to me being excluded from my own house for three months. Thanks to the Family Court I am back here now with my dogs, enjoying what is likely to be the last summer in my house.

Some of you will remember my middle dog Ripley. He sadly passed away last month. He had epilepsy and whilst I had his seizures under control through drugs, the cumulative effect weakens the heart and he went into complete heart failure at the vets.

Now that my legal workload is reduced, even if temporarily, I hope to be posting images and engaging in forum chat once again.

Please forgive my absence.

Now that those bad times are passing I hope you'll be able to rebuild and see positivity for the future. I had noticed your absence and kept an eye on your Flickr but could see that was not very active either. I look forward to you posting again - it is sad that we won't be treated to your beautiful photos of Ripley again, but your other companions will no doubt keep you busy and ensure your portrait skills aren't lost!

Welcome back. There's no need to apologise for being absent for a while, life has a habit of throwing curveballs once in a while and you've got no choice but to deal with them. They can take their toll but getting back to photographic things can help with a return to some sort of normality (the voice of experience here!).
