I have set up the camera for using the aperture ring and have now got the lens working. But will need to do a lot more work to get the hang this.

Hi, I have got a "new" piece of kit. It is a film camera era, a Sigma TELE-MACRO 2x - 1:1 lens. When this is coupled with my 50mm f1.7 lens appears to work well but the camera, a K5, won't respond. Why not? Why won't the camera work in manual? Is there some menu setting I have overlooked?

I have recently got myself a Pentax f1:1.7 50mm lens but of course back in the old days my film Pentax had a screen for manual focusing but my K7 is just plain. Now I know that different screens are obtainable at a price but are there any "tricks" "nacks" or "dodges" to help overcome this dificulty. Iv'e been training myself focusing on newsprint and high contrast squares and lines.

Hi, Thank's to all who replied. It always puts you in a spot when a friend asks for help and..........you are stuck with a red face.

SDHC cards seem to be the problem. I found a couple of 1GB SD cards and they both work fine. My friend got her camera from EBAY and it came complete with 2 batteries, charger, discs, instructions and 2 4GB SDHC cards. I'll do her a swap, the IGB cards for the 4GB cards.

A friend has reciently got themselves an *ist DL2, that when switched on shows " Memory Card Error " on the screen. The menu is still viueable but their instruction book ait'n very helpfull. Sevelal other memory sticks have been tried, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB and although they all work in their own cameras " Memory Card Error " still comes up in his *ist. Formating has also been tried with no effect. ??? Any helpfull advice ???

Hi, thanks for all the info. and advice I've got a lot to try out. BUT more important the radiator in my bathroom has sprung a leak !!!! Off to "Tool Station" tomorrow shearching for a 500mm by 800mm radiator.

Thanks Barrie, the CR-V3 we have last around 5 to 10 shots , then they are flat, the NI-MH rechargeable batteries do not always work at all, not even to bring on the screen. Are NI-MH not he right kind ?

I am haveng trouble seeing the exposoure detalis thruo the eyepice of my K-R, particulary in strong light. Is there an extender or eye cup or some other "home made" divece which would help? I wear glasses and on my previous camera, a Ca**N, I had an eyepice adaptor which extended the eyepice by 15mm which took my nose a bit farther away from the screen.
