ok here goes I'm going to buy the 50-135mm f2.8 before Christmas and in the new year a new K-5.

would you sell the 70-200mm tamron or keep it.
I do have 2 K20's and the K100 witch I'm going to keep.

James

Good point Gareth

But when your in a dark theatre the last thing you want to be doing is changing a lens

I have a Tamron 70-200 1:2.8 witch I bought from SRS last year and only used it three or four times, never in the studio.

I'm looking for a lens that is more usable in the studio

I own some nice glass but would like to invest in a lens that has a better reach that the Pentax DA 18-45 f4 and the Tameron XR Di 28-75mm f2.8 (lenses that I use the most)

I also own pentax SMC DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 only come out on holiday's
Pentax SMC DA 55-300mm 4-5.8 also only comes out on holiday.

Now I've been thinking of Limited lenses for quite some time but I don't think the QI is that much better than a good zoom.

your comments and advice is really welcome

this lens would be used for portraits and shows that have only stage lighting so f4 to f2.8 would be better

He has had my K100 for four month's and is very good at handling it with care as he know's it's got a special place in my heart. It was bought as a present in America by my wife. (I will never sell it)

only the DA 50-200 mm and only when I'm there to make sure he hold's it right and the camera strap is around his neck.

He know's never to shoot the camera with out his strap around his neck

I would like to think so Tim.
but we will see

He is doing photography at school (Friday's) and enjoying it also helps out in the studio every now and again.

well I bought my son for his (10) birthday a K-x and at first glance it's quite good.

really good camera for a first camera, it fits well in his small hands

ISO AT 1600, it's amazing

I only have a small problem no battery grip for it but then he may struggle with the extra weight and no focusing zone shown in view finder.

but they are my own gripes.
